Description
Tokyo Marui M40A5 Sniper Rifle (Black)
The Tokyo Marui M40A5 is a spring-powered bolt-action airsoft sniper rifle modelled on the M40A5 used by the US Marine Corps. It combines a McMillan-style stock with Tokyo Marui’s well-known reputation for consistent, accurate replicas, and this version is finished in black.
Spring power means no gas or batteries: you cycle the bolt for each shot, and the rifle performs the same in summer and winter. That makes the M40A5 a dependable choice for players taking on a sniper or marksman role, as well as a satisfying rifle for target shooting. It is a full-size rifle, around 1,200mm long and weighing roughly 5.5kg, so it has a solid, steady feel on the aim.
Build and materials
The stock is resin, in a McMillan style, with an adjustable cheekpiece that moves up and down and side to side so you can get a consistent cheek weld behind a scope. Four butt plate spacers let you adjust the length of pull to suit your build and the clothing or armour you wear. Key parts are metal, including the outer barrel, muzzle brake, receiver and mount base.
Performance and internals
The rifle uses a spring-powered bolt action with a 68mm bolt stroke and an adjustable hop-up, so you can tune the backspin for your chosen BB weight. The trigger is adjustable for both weight and stroke, letting you set it up for a clean, predictable break. Thoughtful safety and usability touches include a cocking indicator, a bolt handle lock, and a BB loading safety that stops the rifle loading without a magazine fitted.
It feeds from a 35-round magazine with a pressed steel outer casing, which is plenty for the measured pace of sniper play.
Handling and optics
An optical sight mount base is fitted, ready for your choice of scope, and an accessory mount takes 20mm Picatinny parts, so you can add a bipod or other accessories. With a good scope and a bipod, the M40A5 is very stable from a prone or rested position. Its length suits woodland and open sites more than tight CQB.

Care and maintenance
Clean the inner barrel regularly with a cleaning rod and a dry cloth patch to keep groups tight. Use only clean, seamless BBs, and never reuse BBs from the ground. Avoid dry-firing the rifle without a BB, as this can be harsh on the piston and cylinder. Store it in a padded case, and if you will not use it for a while, store it uncocked to rest the spring.
Who is it for?
The M40A5 is for sniper and marksman players who want a reliable, accurate bolt-action rifle with no gas or batteries to worry about, and for target shooters who appreciate a well-made full-size rifle.
Please note: Scope, bipod and BBs are not included. Always wear suitable eye protection when shooting.
