Description
Vigor 5.1 Custom Spring Pistol Full Metal Blue V9
The Vigor 5.1 Custom is a full metal spring pistol, and this version is finished in blue. It is styled on the popular 5.1 Hi-Capa custom pistol shape, with the long slide and wide grip that make the Hi-Capa family so recognisable. Its model code is V9, the same as our black 5.1 Custom.
Spring power means there is no gas to buy and no battery to charge: rack the slide to cock it, take your shot, and repeat. That makes the 5.1 Custom an inexpensive, easy-going pistol to own, whether you want something for back-garden target practice or a weighty, colourful display piece. The blue finish clearly marks it out as a replica and makes it easy to spot if you put it down outdoors.
Build and finish
The full metal construction is the headline feature. Many entry-level spring pistols are made of plastic, but metal gives this one a reassuring weight and a much more solid feel, so it sits steady in the hand when you aim and feels far more substantial than a lightweight replica.
The blue finish gives the 5.1 Custom a bold, distinctive look that stands apart from the usual black pistols. It pairs well with other coloured replicas in a collection and makes the pistol easy to pick out on a shelf or a range table.
How it works
Each time you pull the slide back, a spring is compressed and a BB is chambered from the magazine. Pulling the trigger releases the spring, which drives a piston to push a burst of air behind the BB. You get one shot per cocking stroke, and performance stays the same whatever the weather, because there is no gas pressure to fall away on cold days.
This deliberate, one-at-a-time rhythm is excellent for practising sight alignment and trigger control. With no recoil to disturb your aim, you can watch each shot and learn from it.
Getting the best from it
Load the magazine carefully and do not force in more BBs than it is designed to hold. Shoot at a safe backstop, such as a purpose-made BB trap or a cardboard box filled with old cloth, so that BBs are caught rather than bouncing back. Paper targets at five to ten metres are a good starting point, and moving back as your groups tighten is an enjoyable way to measure progress.
If shots start to wander, check the BBs first, as damaged or dirty BBs are the usual culprit, then give the inner barrel a gentle clean. A spring pistol looked after in this simple way will give a great deal of shooting for very little cost.

Compatibility
Fires standard 6mm airsoft BBs; lighter BBs, around 0.12g to 0.20g, are a sensible range for a spring pistol. Although it shares the 5.1 Hi-Capa styling, it is a spring replica, so it does not accept Hi-Capa gas magazines or gas-pistol internal parts. Use the magazine supplied with the pistol, and check holster fit before buying one, as fit varies between holster makers.
Care and maintenance
Spring pistols are very easy to look after. Wipe the pistol down after use, especially if it has been outside, and give the metal a light film of silicone oil to keep the finish in good condition. Clean the inner barrel occasionally with a cleaning rod and a soft patch.
Store the pistol uncocked and unloaded, in a dry place out of reach of children. Avoid dry-firing it repeatedly without BBs, as that puts extra strain on the piston and spring.
Who is it for?
The blue Vigor 5.1 Custom is for anyone who wants an affordable, solidly built pistol for target practice or collecting, from newer shooters learning the basics to collectors who enjoy the Hi-Capa look in a bold colour. It is also a practical way to get used to Hi-Capa style handling without the cost of gas.
Please note: Always wear suitable eye protection when using airsoft replicas, and only shoot at a safe backstop.
