Build and styling

How a spring pistol works
A spring pistol has a piston and spring inside. Racking the slide compresses the spring and locks it back, and pulling the trigger releases it, pushing a burst of air behind the BB. Because the power comes from your hand each time, it shoots the same whether it is hot or cold, and there are no gas seals to dry out or batteries to charge.

Getting started
Read the manual first so you know how the safety works. Load BBs, rack the slide fully to cock the pistol and fire a few shots at a safe backstop. If the pistol has an adjustable hop-up, set it a little at a time until the BBs fly level.
Spring pistols are ideal for practising in the garden or at an indoor range with a suitable BB trap. Always wear eye protection, even when target shooting.

Compatibility
This is a spring-powered pistol and does not use gas or batteries. Use good quality 6mm airsoft BBs of a light weight, which suit spring pistols best. Although it is styled like a Hi-Capa, internal parts and magazines from gas Hi-Capa pistols will not be compatible. Holsters for full metal Hi-Capa-sized pistols should suit it, but check the fit before buying.
Care and maintenance
Do not store the pistol cocked, as leaving the spring compressed will weaken it over time. Avoid dry firing without a BB more than necessary, and keep the pistol in a case or box when not in use to protect the finish.
Keep the pistol clean and dry, and wipe the metal parts with a light coat of silicone oil from time to time to keep the finish looking good and prevent marks. Clean the inner barrel occasionally with a rod and soft patch, and only use clean, seamless BBs.
