Description
Vigor 5.1 S2 Full Metal Spring Pistol Gold V18
The Vigor 5.1 S2 (model V18) is a full metal, spring-powered airsoft pistol in a gold finish, styled on the long-slide 5.1 Hi-Capa layout. You rack the slide before each shot to cock it, so there is no gas to buy and no battery to charge, and it costs next to nothing to run.
Vigor makes a wide range of affordable spring pistols, and its full metal models stand out because they have the weight and feel of a far more expensive replica. The gold finish makes this V18 a real eye-catcher, whether it is for garden plinking, learning safe handling or simply adding something different to a collection. We also stock the same V18 in blue, and this model is a different version from Vigor’s ported V17.
Build and finish
Being full metal, the V18 has a reassuring heft in the hand. That weight helps steady your aim and makes it feel like a serious pistol rather than a lightweight plastic spring gun. The 5.1 layout gives a long slide and a full-size grip that suits most hand sizes.
The gold finish is the headline here. It gives the pistol a bold, distinctive look that clearly sets it apart from a standard black sidearm, and makes it an easy pistol to pick out on a table or in a display. Please check the product images for exactly how the finish is applied.
How a spring pistol works
A spring pistol uses a spring and piston to push a burst of air behind the BB. Racking the slide compresses the spring and readies a BB from the magazine; pulling the trigger releases the piston and fires. You get one shot for every cocking stroke, which makes the pistol simple, predictable and very easy to understand.
Because there is no gas pressure to fall away in the cold and no battery to run flat, a spring pistol performs the same on a frosty morning as it does on a summer afternoon. That one-shot-at-a-time rhythm also encourages careful, deliberate shooting, which is excellent practice for sight alignment and trigger control.
Learning safe handling
A simple, affordable spring pistol is a good place to build safe habits: keep your finger off the trigger until you are on target, always point the muzzle in a safe direction and treat the pistol as loaded at all times. When you finish, unload it and leave it uncocked.
Like any realistic replica, it should be kept out of public view. Carry it in a bag or case when travelling to a range or site, and store it securely at home, out of reach of young children.
Target practice at home
A spring pistol is ideal for back-garden or indoor target practice where it is safe and permitted. Set up a proper backstop, such as a BB trap or a box filled with old cloth, and keep everyone behind the firing line wearing eye protection. Paper targets at five to ten metres make a good starting distance, and moving back as your groups tighten is an enjoyable way to measure progress.

Compatibility
Uses standard 6mm airsoft BBs. Light BBs, typically 0.12g to 0.20g, suit low-powered spring pistols best; follow the weight recommended in the manual. Use only magazines made for this model, as magazines for gas Hi-Capa pistols are a completely different design.
Holsters made for 5.1 Hi-Capa pistols should suit the outline, but check the fit with the pistol in hand before relying on one.
Care and maintenance
Use clean, good quality seamless BBs and never reuse BBs from the floor, as damaged BBs are the most common cause of jams. Give the inner barrel a quick clean with a cleaning rod and a dry patch every so often.
Wipe the metal surfaces with a lightly oiled cloth now and then to protect the gold finish, especially after handling, and store the pistol somewhere dry, unloaded and uncocked. A little silicone oil on the slide rails keeps the action smooth.
Who is it for?
The gold V18 is for beginners, plinkers and collectors who want a weighty, full metal spring pistol that is cheap to run, always ready to shoot and a little more eye-catching than the usual black replica.
Please note: The listing does not state what is supplied with the pistol, so please ask us if you need to know before ordering. Always wear suitable eye protection when shooting, and make sure anyone nearby does too.
