Description
Vigor M870 Custom Tactical Pump Action Shotgun (RIS – Black – Short)
The Vigor M870 Custom Tactical is a spring-powered airsoft shotgun based on the 870 pump-action pattern, one of the most widely recognised shotgun designs in the world. This short version is finished in black and fitted with an RIS (rail interface system), giving it a modern tactical look and space to mount accessories.
Vigor produces affordable spring replicas that are easy to own and run, and the M870 is a good example. With no gas to buy and no battery to charge, the shotgun is ready whenever you are. Simply work the pump to cock it and pull the trigger. Its compact length makes it easy to handle in tight spaces, while the pump action gives the satisfying, deliberate rhythm that makes airsoft shotguns so popular.
How it works
Airsoft spring shotguns use the pump to compress a spring inside the receiver. When you pull the trigger, that spring drives a piston forward and pushes air behind the BB to fire it. You then work the pump again for the next shot. Because the action is entirely mechanical, it is unaffected by cold weather and does not depend on charged batteries or gas, so it behaves the same in January as it does in July.
Handling and ergonomics
The short configuration keeps the shotgun compact and well balanced, which is a real advantage when moving through doorways, corridors and dense woodland. The RIS rail gives you mounting points for a torch, laser or red dot sight, so you can set it up for night games or indoor sites. The pump stroke rewards a confident, positive action: pull it fully back and push it fully forward each time for consistent cocking and feeding.
Playing with a shotgun
Shotguns are a popular choice for close-quarters games, role-play and players who enjoy a more deliberate style. Because each shot needs a pump, you learn to make every shot count and to move between cover with purpose. It is also great fun for back-garden target practice, where the solid, manual action is part of the appeal.
Key features
- Pump-action spring shotgun based on the 870 pattern
- Short configuration for CQB
- RIS rail system for accessories
- Fully mechanical: no gas or battery needed
- Consistent performance in any weather
- Simple to operate and maintain
- Finished in black
Compatibility
The RIS rail accepts standard rail-mount accessories such as torches, lasers and red dot sights. Use magazines or shells made for this model; shotgun feeding systems vary widely between manufacturers, so please ask us before buying spares. Use 6mm airsoft BBs only; lighter BBs are generally best suited to spring replicas of this type.
Care and maintenance
Avoid dry-firing the shotgun repeatedly without BBs, as this puts unnecessary strain on the piston and spring. Use clean, undamaged BBs and never reuse fired BBs, which can carry dirt into the barrel. Do not leave the shotgun cocked in storage. Wipe it down after use, especially after wet games, and keep it somewhere dry. Clean the barrel occasionally with a rod and dry patch. Make sure the shotgun is empty of BBs before you put it away.
Who is it for?
The Vigor M870 suits newer players and those on a budget who want a reliable, maintenance-light shotgun for CQB, role-play games or target practice at home. It is also a handy, characterful back-up for players who usually use an AEG.
Please note: Always wear suitable eye and face protection and check your site’s rules before play.
