Description
Walther T4E HDS Double Barrel .68 Caliber Paintball Shotgun (Umarex – 7.5j – Black – With 100 Rubber Balls)
The Walther T4E HDS from Umarex is a compact, double-barrel .68 calibre shotgun-style marker in black. Part of Umarex’s T4E (Training for Engagement) range, it fires .68 calibre rubber balls and paintballs, and this version is rated at 7.5 joules. It is supplied with 100 rubber balls so you can start practising straight away.
The HDS takes the simple, robust layout of a short double-barrel shotgun and turns it into a practical trainer for target work and home range use. There is nothing complicated about it, which is a large part of its appeal: load, select a barrel, and shoot.
How it works
The HDS is powered by a single 12g CO2 capsule and holds two shots, one in each barrel. A barrel selector lets you choose which barrel fires, so you can take two deliberate shots before reloading. A pressurised indicator on top shows when the system is charged.
Being CO2 powered, it needs no battery and no pump. Simply fit a fresh 12g capsule and it is ready to use. CO2 performance does drop in cold weather, so keep spare capsules warm in a pocket during winter sessions.
Handling and accessories
Its short, sawn-off style layout keeps the HDS handy and easy to manoeuvre in tight spaces. A forward Picatinny rail lets you fit a torch or laser, which is useful for low-light training. A built-in trigger safety helps prevent accidental discharge.
Training uses
Two shots per load encourages careful shot placement and smooth, practised reloads, which makes the HDS a good tool for drills that combine aiming, barrel selection and reloading under time pressure. Its short length also makes it well suited to practising movement in confined spaces.
Ammunition
As a .68 calibre marker it uses the most common paintball size, so ammunition is easy to find. Rubber balls are reusable and leave no mess, which makes them ideal for practice, while paintballs give a visible mark on targets.

Care and maintenance
Remove the CO2 capsule after every session so the seals are not left under pressure. Put a drop of silicone oil on the tip of each new capsule before fitting to help keep the seals supple. Keep the barrels clean and dry, especially after using paintballs, and wipe the outside with a lightly oiled cloth. Store it unloaded in a cool, dry place.
Who is it for?
The HDS is for anyone who wants a simple, compact marker for target practice and training, and for T4E owners looking to add a .68 calibre shotgun-style trainer to their kit.
Please note: CO2 capsules are not included. Always wear suitable eye and face protection, and only shoot where it is safe and permitted.
