WE MEU OD Full Metal GBBP
The WE MEU OD is a full metal gas blowback pistol modelled on the MEU 1911, finished in olive drab. It gives you the classic 1911 shape with the practical upgrades that make the MEU so well regarded, in a military green that suits woodland and OD loadouts.
The MEU (Marine Expeditionary Unit) 1911 is the version of the classic 1911 associated with US Marine Corps special units, combining the original shape with practical upgrades such as a beavertail grip safety, an ambidextrous thumb safety and improved sights. WE (WE-Tech) is a Taiwanese manufacturer and one of the best-known names in gas blowback pistols. Its replicas are widely used as sidearms on UK skirmish sites, with good spare parts support and a reputation for strong, lively blowback. The MEU is one of the most popular pistols in WE’s range and makes an excellent first metal pistol as well as a dependable sidearm for experienced players.
Build and materials
The slide and frame are metal, as are the key working parts, so the pistol has a reassuring weight and no creaks or flex. The olive drab finish is practical and ties in with green kit, and it gives the pistol a more distinctive look than a standard black 1911.
Handling
True to the MEU pattern, there is a working grip safety with a beavertail, which protects the web of your hand and encourages a high, consistent grip. An ambidextrous thumb safety suits left- and right-handed shooters, and forward cocking serrations, a three-hole skeleton trigger and improved sights complete the layout. A lanyard loop is fitted at the base of the grip.
The single-stack magazine holds 15 rounds. The single-action trigger is short and light once the hammer is cocked, which makes the MEU an excellent pistol for learning good trigger control.
The 1911 layout

Compatibility
Use WE 1911 MEU gas magazines; please ask us before buying spares from other makers, as fit varies between brands. Fires standard 6mm BBs; 0.20g to 0.25g suit most gas pistols.
Most holsters made for full-size 1911 pistols fit the MEU. Use only gas made for airsoft guns; never use lighter fluid or butane.
Care and maintenance
Gas blowback pistols reward a little regular attention. After a day’s play, wipe the slide, frame and magazine down with a lightly oiled cloth to remove dust and moisture, and run a cleaning rod with a clean patch through the inner barrel every so often to keep accuracy consistent. Use only gas made for airsoft, and put a drop of silicone oil on the magazine fill valve and outlet seal from time to time to keep them supple and leak-free.
Don’t overfill the magazine; a short, steady fill is enough, and you will hear and see when it is full. For storage, leave a small amount of gas in the magazine to keep the seals pressurised, store the pistol and magazines at room temperature, and avoid leaving them in a cold car or direct sun. In cold weather keep spare magazines warm in a pocket, as gas pressure drops noticeably as temperature falls. Use good quality seamless 6mm BBs, as cheap or misshapen BBs are the most common cause of jams and hop-up wear.
