Description
WE R5C PCC Gas Blowback Rifle (Black)
The WE R5C PCC is a compact, full metal gas blowback rifle in black, styled after a short-barrelled AR-pattern carbine. PCC stands for pistol calibre carbine, and this replica uses a pistol-style gas magazine, which keeps the rifle short and light while giving it a punchy blowback kick. It is a lively, fun replica for CQB and close-quarters woodland play.
WE (Wei-ETech) is a Taiwanese maker with a long history of gas blowback rifles and pistols, and its open-bolt GBB system is known for being simple and dependable. The R5C PCC suits players who want the realism of a GBBR in a handy package, and it makes a good introduction to gas rifles.
Build and materials
The rifle is built almost entirely from metal, including the receiver, bolt catch and two-piece rail handguard, so it feels rigid and robust. The modular rail handguard gives you space for a torch, foregrip or laser, and there are sling mounting points front and rear.
Because it is an AR-style platform, the controls will feel instantly familiar to anyone who has used an M4: a standard safety selector, magazine release, bolt catch and charging handle.
Performance and internals
The R5C PCC uses WE’s open-bolt gas blowback system. When you fire, gas from the magazine drives the bolt back, giving a sharp recoil impulse and the satisfying clatter of a real action. The open-bolt design is generally more tolerant of cooler weather than many closed-bolt GBB rifles. It fires in safe, semi and full auto, and the hop-up is adjustable.
The magazine is a pistol-style gas magazine, listed by retailers as a 50-round G-series format that is compatible with WE 9mm GBBR magazines. Using pistol-style magazines keeps reloads quick and makes the rifle noticeably lighter than a full-size GBBR.
Getting started
Fill the magazine with the correct gas, holding the can upright and filling in short bursts. Let the magazine settle for a minute, load your BBs and fire a few test shots with the hop-up off, then add hop gradually until the BBs fly flat.
Get the replica chronographed at your site before play. In cold weather, keep spare magazines warm in an inside pocket for the most consistent performance.

Care and maintenance
Put a drop of silicone oil on the magazine’s fill valve and seals every few fills, and store magazines with a little gas in them so the seals stay tight. Do not overfill, and let magazines warm up to room temperature in cold weather rather than heating them.
Wipe the moving parts and the outer barrel with a thin film of silicone oil now and then, clean the inner barrel with a rod and patch, and use good quality seamless BBs. Never use petroleum-based oils on the seals.
Who is it for?
CQB and close-quarters players who want a realistic, hard-hitting gas blowback rifle that is short, light and quick to reload.
