Description
Well R2 Pistol AEG Sub-Machine Gun (Blue)
The Well R2 is a compact electric sub-machine gun modelled on the Skorpion vz.61, the small Czech machine pistol famous for its tiny size and folding wire stock. This version is finished in blue. It is one of the smallest automatic replicas you can buy, which makes it a lot of fun on indoor and CQB sites and an easy gun for younger or smaller players to handle.
Well is a long-established Chinese maker of affordable airsoft replicas, and the R2 is designed as a budget-friendly way into electric SMGs. It is light enough to carry as a secondary but capable enough to use as a primary in close-range games.
How it works
The R2 is electric, so it runs on a small rechargeable battery rather than gas. That means consistent performance whatever the weather, with no gas to buy and no drop in power on cold days. Retailers list it with a Well mini type gearbox and an adjustable hop-up, so you can tune the BB flight to suit the BB weight you are using. Because the gearbox and battery are small, it is a lower-powered design than a full-size rifle, which suits close-range play.
Handling and layout
The Skorpion layout is short and compact, with a pistol grip, a magazine ahead of the trigger guard and a wire stock that folds over the top of the gun. With the stock folded it is small enough to carry like a large pistol; unfold it and you have a stable shoulder rest for more accurate shooting. Retailers list adjustable sights and a short 20mm rail under the barrel for a small torch or laser.
On the field
On a CQB site the R2’s tiny size is its biggest strength. It is easy to swing around door frames and through narrow corridors, and the folding stock means you can tuck it in close when moving and extend it when you need a steadier aim. Its lighter weight is a real advantage for long days of play, and an electric gun is ready to go whatever the weather. Many players also carry a compact SMG like this as a backup to a sniper rifle or support weapon, giving them a fast-handling option for close-range fights. Carry a spare magazine or two, as the compact magazines empty quickly.
Key features
- Skorpion vz.61-style electric SMG
- Compact, lightweight design
- Folding wire stock
- Adjustable hop-up
- Battery powered for consistent performance in all weathers
- Ideal for CQB and indoor sites
- Blue finish
Compatibility
The R2 uses its own magazines and a small battery made to fit its compact body, so it does not take MP5 or other common SMG magazines or standard-size batteries. Check whether a battery and charger are included with your listing, and when buying spares make sure they are listed for the Well R2. Use good quality seamless 6mm BBs of 0.20g or heavier; avoid very light 0.12g BBs, which can cause feeding problems and damage.
Care and maintenance
Disconnect and remove the battery after every game and store it separately from the gun. Charge it with a suitable charger and never leave it charging unattended. Clean the inner barrel regularly with a cleaning rod and a lightly dampened patch. Keep magazines clean and free of grit, and wipe the gun down after wet or dusty games.
Who is it for?
The Well R2 suits CQB and indoor players who want a small, light automatic replica, younger players who need a gun that is easy to handle, and anyone looking for an affordable, fun secondary.
Please note: BBs are not included. Always wear suitable eye and face protection and check your site’s rules before play.
