Description
WinGun Major 3 1877 Break Top Antique CO2 Revolver (Weathering)
The WinGun Major 3 1877 is a CO2-powered 6mm break top revolver, styled on the top-break revolvers of the late 19th century. This version has a weathered, antique finish that gives it the look of a well-used frontier sidearm, with the worn edges and character of a revolver that has seen plenty of service.
WinGun is a well-established maker of CO2 pistols and revolvers, and the Major 3 is one of its most distinctive designs. The break top action is not just for show: it works much like the originals, making loading and unloading a fun and authentic part of shooting it.
Build and materials
The Major 3 is made of metal, which gives it a solid, substantial weight in the hand and a convincing feel. It measures around 330mm long and weighs a little over a kilo, so it has a real presence when drawn from a holster or held on display.
The weathered finish highlights the classic lines of the frame, barrel and cylinder, and makes each revolver look as though it has a history of its own.
How the break top works
A lever in front of the hammer releases the action, allowing the barrel and cylinder to hinge downwards. The same movement operates the extractor, lifting the shells so they can be removed and reloaded quickly. Close the action and the revolver is ready to fire.
The revolver uses six shells, each holding one 6mm BB. It uses the same shells as the WinGun / Gun Heaven Webley revolvers, so spare shells are easy to find and can be preloaded for faster reloads.
Power and performance
The CO2 capsule is housed in the grip; to fit it, loosen the screw underneath and remove the left grip panel. CO2 gives the Major 3 a crisp, consistent shot and keeps it working well in a range of temperatures. It has a fixed hop-up and is non-blowback, so the gas is used efficiently for each shot.
It is enjoyable for target shooting and plinking, makes a characterful sidearm in themed or Western games, and stands out in any revolver collection.

Care and maintenance
Put a drop of silicone oil on the tip of each new CO2 capsule before fitting it to help keep the seal in good condition. Remove the capsule when it is empty or at the end of the day, rather than leaving it under pressure for long periods.
The weathered finish is part of the look, but it still benefits from a light wipe with a soft, lightly oiled cloth after handling to remove moisture and fingerprints. Keep the hinge and extractor clean and free of grit, and store the revolver somewhere dry.
