Description
WSB Bubble Floats – Small (25mm)
WSB Bubble Floats are clear, round floats, here in the small 25mm size, supplied two to a packet. Bubble floats are a simple, versatile bit of tackle that lets you cast light baits and small lures much further than you could on their own, while keeping them up in the water.
Because they are clear, they are far less obvious to fish than a brightly coloured float, which is a real advantage when fishing on or near the surface for wary fish. The 25mm small size is ideal when you want a more delicate presentation and a quieter landing.
How they work
A bubble float adds casting weight to a set-up that would otherwise be too light to cast, such as a single piece of bread crust, a floating pellet, a small fly or a tiny lure. Many bubble floats can also be part-filled with water to add extra weight while still floating, letting you adjust how far they cast and how high they sit; check how your floats open before trying this. The round shape sits steadily on the surface and gives clear bite indication when a fish takes.
Ways to use them
At 25mm the small bubble float lands more softly and is less obvious to fish, which suits closer range surface fishing for rudd, chub and carp with bread or floating pellets, and freelining-style presentations where you want just a little extra casting weight. At sea it is useful for presenting small flies or tiny lures near the surface.
Key features
- Clear, round bubble float design
- Small size: 25mm
- Low visibility on or near the surface
- Adds casting weight for light baits and lures
- Suits surface fishing and light lure presentations
- 2 floats per packet
What’s in the box
- 2 x WSB clear round bubble floats, 25mm
Compatibility
Use on spinning, float or light lure rods with line suited to the target species. A swivel and a hooklength below the float help prevent line twist and allow you to set the bait at the right distance from the float. A larger 30mm size is also available when you need more casting weight or buoyancy.
Care and maintenance
Floats last much longer if they are kept in a dedicated float box or tube rather than loose in a bag, where tips can be snapped and bodies scratched. Rinse off mud and weed after a session and let them dry before packing them away. Check the attachment eye or stem for cracks from time to time, and touch up a faded tip with a little float paint if needed so it stays easy to see.
Who is it for?
For anglers who like light surface fishing at shorter range, and for anyone wanting a discreet way to add casting weight to small baits and flies.
Please note: Hooks, line and bait are not included.
