Description
WSB Silver Wedge 28g
The WSB Silver Wedge 28g is a compact, streamlined metal lure for long casting from the shore. On the retrieve it sends out vibrations that copy the movement of an injured fish, provoking an attack from predators looking for an easy meal.
At 28g it sits in the middle of the WSB wedge range, making it a dependable all-round size that casts a long way on a standard spinning or bass rod while still being light enough to work through the water with plenty of action.
How it catches
A wedge packs its weight into a short, aerodynamic body, so it flies well and reaches fish feeding further out. In the water, the shape makes it vibrate and flutter, and the silver finish throws out flashes of light like the scales of a baitfish. That combination of flash and vibration is what draws predators in.
Mackerel and bass are classic targets, and a wedge of this size will also catch pollack, garfish and other species that hunt small fish.
Retrieve tips
Cast, count the wedge down to the depth you want to fish, then retrieve at a steady pace. A fast retrieve keeps it high in the water for fish chasing bait near the surface, while a slower retrieve with lifts and drops of the rod tip works deeper water and over rough ground.
