Description
WSB Telespin 10
The WSB Telespin 10 is a 10ft telescopic spinning rod and the longest of the models we stock from WSB’s Telespin range. It gives the most casting distance and reach of the series, yet still slides down into itself for easy carrying.
WSB offers the Telespin in five popular lengths to cover the needs of the travelling angler, and describes the range as strong telescopic rods rather than cheap holiday rods. The 10ft version is a good choice when you need to cast further, fish over marginal weed or rocks, or keep more line off the water.
Making the most of the length
A 10ft rod helps you reach fish feeding further out, whether you are casting metals for mackerel and bass from the shore or working spoons and plugs across a big lake. The long blank gives good control over the line and helps steer fish away from obstacles at your feet, which is useful from rocks, piers and high banks. It also makes a capable float rod for longer-range trotting or waggler fishing on holiday.
Longer rods need a little more care when casting in tight spaces, so check behind you for trees, people and overhead obstacles before each cast.
Setting up
Draw out each section from the tip downwards with a slight twist so it locks firmly, and keep the rings aligned. Once the reel is fitted and the line threaded, check every joint again before you start. Collapse it from the butt end when you are finished, wiping each section clean as it slides in.
Key features
- 10ft telescopic spinning rod
- Longest model we stock from the Telespin range
- Extra casting distance and reach
- Strong build, not a holiday rod
- Collapses for travel and storage
- Suits shore spinning, lure and float fishing
Compatibility
Use it with a medium fixed-spool reel and mono or braid to suit your target species. Keep casting weights within the limits of a spinning rod. Shorter 7ft, 8ft and 9ft versions are also available.
Care and maintenance
Salt and sand are the main enemies of telescopic rods, so rinse the rod in fresh water after every sea session, especially around the joints, and let it dry extended before closing it. Store it in a sleeve away from heat, and inspect the rings and tip regularly.
Who is it for?
The Telespin 10 suits shore and holiday anglers who want maximum reach from a rod that still packs down small, and anyone fishing big waters where casting distance counts.
Please note: The reel and line are not included.
