Description
WSB Telespin 8
The WSB Telespin 8 is an 8ft telescopic spinning rod from WSB’s Telespin range. The sections slide inside one another, so the rod packs down to a short, easy-to-carry length and extends to full fishing length in moments.
WSB makes the Telespin in five popular lengths for the travelling angler, and stresses that these are strong telescopic rods rather than cheap holiday rods. At 8ft, this model is a good all-rounder: long enough to cast well, yet still light and easy to handle on rivers, lakes and the coast.
On the water
An 8ft rod gives a useful balance of casting range and control. Use it with spinners, spoons, small plugs and soft lures for perch, pike and trout, or with light metals and feathers for mackerel from the harbour wall or beach. It also doubles as a simple float or light ledger rod, so one rod can cover a wide range of fishing when you are away from home.
Its packed size means it can live in the car, ready for an unplanned session after work or on a family day out.
Extending and collapsing
Pull out the tip section first and work down towards the butt, twisting each joint gently so it locks, and line up the rings before threading the line. Collapse it in the reverse order, wiping each section as it goes in so dirt does not end up inside the blank.

Care and maintenance
After sea fishing, rinse the rod and especially the joints in fresh water, then leave it extended to dry before closing it up. A rod sleeve protects the rings in transit. Inspect the rings from time to time and replace any that are cracked or grooved.
Who is it for?
A good choice for anglers who want one compact, versatile rod for holidays, the car boot or general lure fishing, and a sensible first spinning rod for beginners.
