Description
zTac E-Switch Tactical PTT (Motorola Connector)
The zTac E-Switch Tactical PTT is a push-to-talk unit that links a tactical headset to a radio with a Motorola-type connector. Instead of reaching for the small button on the side of your radio, you key your transmissions with a larger button on the PTT, which you can mount on your chest rig or shoulder strap where it is easy to find with gloves on.
Z-Tactical (zTac) makes a wide range of headsets and PTT units for airsoft and milsim, and its headsets are designed to connect to the radio through a PTT unit matched to the radio’s connector. A good PTT is one of the most useful upgrades for anyone who uses a radio regularly at games.
How it works
The PTT has two connections: one plugs into your radio’s accessory socket, and the other accepts your headset’s plug. When you press the PTT button, the radio transmits through your headset microphone; when you let go, you hear incoming traffic through the earpieces. Check the product images for the exact button design and the headset connector on this unit.
Our listing describes this as the Motorola connector version. Motorola radios use more than one connector type, so check whether your radio has a single-pin or two-pin socket and compare it with the plug shown in the images before ordering.
Setting it up
Mount the PTT button on your chest rig, plate carrier or shoulder strap, on the side of your support hand, so you can press it without letting go of your replica. Route the cables tidily so they cannot catch on branches or your sling, and run a radio check with your team before every game.

Compatibility
For radios with a Motorola-type connector; it will not fit Kenwood/Baofeng, Icom or Midland radios. Check whether your Motorola radio has a single-pin or two-pin socket against the images. The PTT needs a compatible headset, usually a zTac headset, so check the headset socket on the PTT matches your headset’s plug.
Care and maintenance
Disconnect the PTT and store it somewhere dry after use. Unplug it by the connector, not the cable, and check cables for cuts, kinks or loose plugs from time to time.
Keep connectors free of mud and moisture, and wipe the unit clean with a dry cloth after damp games.
Who is it for?
This PTT suits airsoft and milsim players with a Motorola-connector radio and a tactical headset who want a quick, easy-to-reach transmit button on their rig.
Please note: Radio and headset are not included.
