Description

zTac zPeltor PTT Military Standard Version (Moto Connector)

Listed with a Motorola-type connector, this zTac zPeltor PTT in the Military Standard Version connects your radio to a Peltor-style tactical headset. The zPeltor name shows it is designed around Peltor-type headset wiring, as used on many Comtac-style and Sordin-style replica headsets, Z-Tactical’s included.

Z-Tactical (zTac) produces a large range of replica tactical headsets, PTTs and radio accessories for airsoft and milsim, and its PTTs are a popular way to add proper hands-free comms to a loadout without the cost of military-grade equipment. The Military Standard Version is one of the PTT versions Z-Tactical offers; check the product images for its exact design.

Why use a PTT

A PTT sits between your radio and your headset. Instead of reaching for the radio’s own transmit button, which is usually buried in a pouch on your vest, you press the PTT button mounted on your chest strap, shoulder or another handy spot. You can talk to your team while keeping both hands close to your rifle, and the radio can stay safely tucked away.

Headset compatibility

Headsets are wired in different ways, and a PTT must match both the radio and the headset. Peltor-style headsets use a different wiring standard from the common Kenwood-style plugs found on many budget headsets, which is why Z-Tactical offers zPeltor versions specifically. Before ordering, confirm that your headset is Peltor-type; if you are unsure, check its documentation or ask us.

Mount the PTT where your hand finds it naturally on your carrier or shoulder strap, and route the leads so they do not snag.

Key features

  • zTac PTT for Peltor-style headsets
  • Military Standard Version
  • Fits radios with a Moto connector
  • Key your radio without reaching for it
  • Keeps the radio stowed in its pouch
  • Affordable alternative to military-grade PTTs

Compatibility

This version is for radios with a Motorola-type connector. Motorola connectors come in more than one form, including 1-pin and 2-pin types, so compare the plug in the product images with your radio before ordering. It will not fit Kenwood, Midland, Icom or military-style radios. On the headset side it is intended for Peltor-style headsets, so check your headset’s wiring standard before ordering.

Care and maintenance

Unplug the PTT from your radio and headset after games and store it somewhere dry. Avoid yanking on cables to unplug them, and check the leads and plugs for cuts, kinks or loose connections now and then.

If it gets wet, dry it thoroughly before storing, and keep the connectors free of mud and grit, which can cause crackling or poor contact.

Who is it for?

This PTT is for players running a Peltor-style replica headset with a Moto-connector radio who want proper push-to-talk control on their loadout.

Please note: Radio and headset are not included. PTTs for airsoft use are not intended for professional or military service.
