Description
Golden Eagle M870 Tri-Shot Gas Pump Action Shotgun (Medium – Black – M8873 – V2)
The Golden Eagle M8873 (V2) is a gas-powered pump-action shotgun from Golden Eagle’s M870 tri-shot range, in black and in the medium length. It sits between the short CQB models and the long-barrelled versions, giving a steadier aim than a short shotgun while still being easy to carry around a building.
Golden Eagle’s M870 range is one of the most popular airsoft shotgun lines in the UK, valued for its simple, dependable gas system and its satisfying pump action. Every rack of the pump sends a spread of BBs downrange, making it a hard-hitting and fun alternative primary for CQB and skirmish days.
How the tri-shot system works
Golden Eagle’s tri-shot system uses three inner barrels side by side. Every time you work the pump and pull the trigger, the shotgun fires three BBs at once, giving a tight spread that makes close-range hits much easier than with a single-shot replica. An internal selector lets you switch to six BBs per shot for an even heavier spread.
BBs are loaded into shotgun-style shells, each holding about 30 BBs, which are loaded into the shotgun one at a time. The hop-up is fixed at the factory, so there is nothing to adjust: load good quality 0.20g BBs, fill with gas and you are ready to go.
Handling
The M8873 has a six-position sliding stock, with the gas reservoir housed in the buffer tube, so you can adjust the length of pull to suit your build and your kit. A 20mm rail on the receiver takes a red dot or other optic, white-dot iron sights help you pick up the target quickly, and quick-detach sling points make it easy to carry.
Its medium length is a good all-rounder: compact enough for corridors and doorways, but with enough barrel to feel stable when you take a more deliberate shot. The black finish gives it a classic look.
Getting started
Fill with a suitable airsoft gas, green gas or 134a, in short bursts. Load BBs into a shell with a speedloader, fit the shell, rack the pump fully and test-fire at a safe backstop to see the spread at the distances you expect to play.
Ask your site to chronograph the shotgun before your first game, and carry spare loaded shells in a pouch so you can reload quickly between engagements.

Compatibility
The shotgun runs on green gas or 134a. It uses Golden Eagle M870-series shells, and spare shells are a sensible early purchase so you can reload quickly between engagements; a shell speedloader makes filling them much quicker. Standard 0.20g BBs suit the fixed hop-up. Accessories for rails and stocks should be checked against this exact model before buying.
Care and maintenance
Keep some gas in the shotgun when you put it away, and lubricate the fill valve with silicone oil from time to time to keep the seals supple. Avoid overfilling, and let the shotgun warm up naturally in cold weather rather than heating it.
Check your shells are clean and free of grit before loading them, use quality 0.20g BBs, and give the pump a light wipe with silicone oil now and then. Store the shotgun somewhere dry, in a case or bag.
Who is it for?
For players who want a versatile shotgun that works in buildings and woodland alike, with an adjustable stock and an optic rail.
Please note: Gas, BBs and spare shells are not listed as included. Always wear suitable eye and face protection, and check your site’s rules on shotguns before play.
