Breakaway Spin Links are quick-change links for attaching leads, lures and traces to your line. They are rated for tackle up to 35lb test and come 10 per packet. Spin links are a smaller version of Breakaway’s Fastlink, made for lighter applications where a neat, compact link is preferable.
A quick-change link saves you from having to cut and retie your line every time you want to swap a lure, change a lead weight or put on a fresh rig. That means more time fishing and fewer weakened knots, which is especially welcome in cold or wet weather.
How they are used
Tie the spin link to the end of your line or rig body, then clip on your lure, lead or trace. To change, simply unclip and clip on the next one. They are well suited to lure fishing and light sea or carp leads, and are used on many standard beach rigs.
Tips
Always check that the link is fully closed before casting. If you are using lures, a link lets the lure move freely, which can improve its action compared with tying direct. For heavy casting with large leads, step up to a full-size Fastlink. It is worth keeping a few spare links in your tackle box, as they are small and easy to drop on the beach or pier.
