Description
Cast Pro 6000
The Cast Pro 6000 is a large fixed-spool reel built for sea fishing and for bigger freshwater species. It combines a 7+1 ball bearing system with a worm drive, a one way clutch and a balanced rotor, and it is saltwater treated to help it resist corrosion. The 6000 size gives you plenty of line capacity and a big spool for casting distance.
A reel this size is a practical choice for beach and pier anglers who want the ease of use of a fixed-spool reel, and for anglers fishing from boats, harbour walls or rocks. It is also a sensible size for heavier freshwater work such as pike fishing or long-range carp fishing.
How it performs
The 7+1 ball bearings give a smooth wind, and the one way clutch provides instant anti-reverse, so there is no backward play in the handle when you strike or wind down to a bite. The worm drive oscillation system moves the spool in and out in a slow, even pattern, laying line neatly. A neat line lay helps the line peel off smoothly when you cast, which improves distance and reduces tangles.
The balanced rotor reduces wobble when you are winding quickly, which makes the reel feel smoother and more comfortable over a long session of casting and retrieving.
Built for the sea
Salt water is hard on reels. The Cast Pro 6000 is saltwater treated to resist corrosion, which makes it suitable for regular beach, pier and boat use, provided it is looked after properly afterwards.
Key features
- 6000 size fixed-spool reel
- 7+1 ball bearings for smooth winding
- Worm drive oscillation for even line lay
- One way clutch for instant anti-reverse
- Balanced rotor reduces wobble
- Saltwater treated to resist corrosion
- Suits beach, pier, boat and heavy freshwater fishing
Compatibility
Suits beach casters, pier rods, boat rods and heavier spinning and carp rods with a reel seat large enough for a 6000 size reel. Pair it with line and a shock leader suitable for the lead weights you will be casting.
Care and maintenance
After every sea session, rinse the reel gently with fresh water (do not blast it with a hose or submerge it), then dry it with a cloth and back the drag off before storing. Apply a drop of reel oil to the handle knob, line roller and bail arm pivots from time to time, and grease the main gear as needed. Store it in a reel case or bag to keep sand and grit out.
Who is it for?
Sea anglers fishing from the beach, pier or boat who want a smooth, well-specified fixed-spool reel, and freshwater anglers who need a larger reel for heavier work.
