Description
Bank Stick – Extending
This extending bank stick is made from tubular alloy with a screw top and extends from 50cm to 90cm. It is a versatile support that every angler needs, taking rod rests, bite alarms, keepnet arms, landing net heads and other accessories with a standard screw thread.
Being able to adjust the height is a real advantage on the bank, where the ground is rarely level and swims vary from low, flat platforms to steep or uneven margins. One extending bank stick can do the job of several fixed-length ones, which saves weight and space in your holdall.
Build and design
The alloy tube is light to carry yet stiff enough to support rods and accessories. The two sections slide together to adjust the length and lock in position, letting you set the height anywhere between 50cm and 90cm. The screw top accepts the wide range of rests, heads and accessories that use the standard angling thread.
Using it on the bank
Push the stick firmly into the ground at the angle you want, then set the height so your rods sit comfortably and the tips are where you need them. On hard or stony banks, push it in gradually and gently rather than forcing or hammering it. For a two-rod set-up, a pair of bank sticks with a front rest or bite alarm and a rear rest will give a stable platform.

Care and maintenance
After each session, wipe off mud and grit, especially from the sliding sections and thread, as dirt can make it stiff to adjust or lock. Rinse and dry it thoroughly after use in saltwater or very muddy conditions. Avoid forcing it into stony ground or using it as a lever, which can bend the tube.
