Description
Hudson by EMG H9 Gas Blowback Pistol (Tan – HS-HP0101)
This is the EMG licensed replica of the Hudson H9, a gas blowback pistol in tan, code HS-HP0101. The H9 is one of the most distinctive modern pistol designs of recent years: it combines the familiar feel of a 1911-style trigger with a striker-fired layout, and its frame runs forward under the barrel to give a full-length dust cover with a very low, purposeful profile.
EMG holds official licences for a number of real firearms brands, and this pistol carries Hudson licensing. A UK retailer listing for the EMG Hudson H9 gives Armorer Works as the maker, a company known for well-built gas blowback pistols with good parts support. The H9 suits players who want a sidearm that stands out from the usual Glock and 1911 crowd, and collectors who appreciate an unusual modern design.
Build and design
The UK retailer listing describes a CNC aluminium slide, an alloy outer barrel and a textured grip, with forward and rear slide serrations, an anti-glare top to the slide and a detailed mock extractor. It gives an overall length of about 200mm and a weight of about 0.54kg, which makes the H9 easy to carry in a holster all day. The 4.3-inch outer barrel carries 9×19 chamber markings, as on the original.
There is a 20mm pistol rail on the dust cover for a torch or laser, open iron sights with an anti-glare rear, and an ambidextrous slide lock and release. The tan finish suits coyote and desert-toned kit; a UK retailer lists the H9 in black and in Flat Dark Earth, and please check the product photos for the exact shade of this version.
Performance and controls
The H9 runs on green gas, and every shot cycles the slide for a crisp, realistic recoil. The retailer listing gives a gas magazine of approximately 25 rounds, safe and semi-automatic fire, and a 115mm inner barrel with a 6.08mm bore. The hop-up is a rotary type adjusted on the outer barrel, reached by field-stripping the slide, so you can set it once for your chosen BB weight and leave it.
The listing describes a two-stage safety trigger, and it mentions optional manual safety catches that can be fitted by the owner. Fitting them is a modification, so read the instructions carefully, and ask us if you are not sure.
On the field
A low-profile pistol with a rail and a clean trigger makes a dependable sidearm for CQB and woodland alike. Practise reloads and clearing the pistol at home with an empty magazine, and keep a spare magazine warm in a pocket on cold days, as gas pistols lose some pressure in low temperatures.

Compatibility
Spare magazines should be made for the EMG / Armorer Works Hudson H9; magazines from other pistol designs will not fit. The 11mm clockwise thread listed for the outer barrel takes mock suppressors and tracer units with a matching thread, or an adapter. Holsters must be made for the H9, as its full-length dust cover differs from other pistols, and the 20mm rail takes standard pistol lights and lasers. The retailer suggests 0.25g BBs; always use good quality seamless 6mm BBs.
Care and maintenance
Put a drop of silicone oil on the magazine’s fill valve and seals every few fills, and store magazines with a little gas in them so the seals stay seated. Do not overfill, and in cold weather let magazines warm up to room temperature rather than heating them.
Wipe the moving parts and outer barrel with a thin film of silicone oil now and then, clean the inner barrel with a rod and patch, and use good quality seamless BBs. Never use petroleum-based oils on the seals, and keep the pistol and magazines away from heat and direct sunlight.
Gas blowback pistols need a little lubrication to run well, so a drop of silicone oil on the slide rails every few games keeps the action smooth.
