Description
ACM Large Tamiya Connector Kit for Battery & Charger
This ACM kit supplies Large Tamiya connectors for fitting to airsoft battery and charger leads. Large Tamiya, often just called Tamiya, is the bigger cousin of the Mini Tamiya plug, and it is still found on many larger battery packs, chargers and older replicas.
If a connector on your battery or charger is cracked, loose or has been pulled off, fitting a new one is far cheaper than replacing the battery. A kit like this also lets you standardise your gear so every battery, charger and replica you own uses the same plug. It is listed for both battery and charger use, which makes it a handy addition to any player’s tool box.
Large versus Mini Tamiya
The Large Tamiya plug is physically bigger than the Mini Tamiya, and the two do not plug into each other. Players with bigger battery packs or older equipment often use the Large type, while smaller packs tend to use Mini Tamiya.
Before ordering, look at the plug on your replica and on your battery. If they are the larger, rectangular Tamiya type, this is the kit you want; if they are the smaller version, choose the Mini Tamiya kit instead.
Fitting
Cut off the old plug, then fit the new connector one wire at a time, soldering or crimping as the parts require and insulating every joint. Check the polarity carefully against your existing equipment before you connect anything, because reversed polarity can damage chargers and electronic triggers.
If you are not confident doing this, a local tech or experienced player can fit the connector for you in a few minutes.

- Listed for battery and charger leads
- Replaces damaged or worn plugs
- Lets you standardise your connectors

Compatibility
Large Tamiya connectors mate only with other Large Tamiya connectors. They do not fit Mini Tamiya, Deans (T-plug) or XT-style plugs. Check the plug on your replica and the product images for the parts in the kit before ordering.
Care and maintenance
Store spare connectors in a small box so they stay clean and the pins are not bent. Inspect fitted connectors regularly for cracks, discolouration or loose pins, and replace any that feel warm after use.
Unplug by gripping the connector bodies rather than the wires, and keep plugs dry and free of dirt.
Who is it for?
This kit is for players and techs who maintain their own batteries and chargers and use, or want to standardise on, Large Tamiya connectors.
Please note: Fitting requires soldering or crimping; tools and wire are not included. Take care never to short battery leads while working on them.
