Description
ACM Tappet Plate V3
This is an ACM tappet plate for Version 3 AEG gearboxes, as named. The tappet plate is the part that moves the air nozzle back and forth, pulling it back to let a BB into the hop-up chamber and then pushing it forward to seal the chamber before each shot.
ACM supplies a wide range of affordable airsoft spares, and a replacement tappet plate is one of the cheapest ways to fix feeding problems in an AEG. Version 3 gearboxes are found in AK pattern AEGs and several others, but the exact parts used vary between makers.
Why replace a tappet plate
Tappet plates are usually made of polymer and work with a return spring. Over time the plate can crack, the nozzle mount can wear, or the arm that the sector gear strikes can become worn, causing poor feeding, double feeds or erratic range. A broken tappet plate can stop the rifle feeding altogether.
If you are fitting a new air nozzle or upgrading internals, it is often worth replacing the tappet plate at the same time so the feeding system works together properly.
Fitting
Fitting a tappet plate means opening the gearbox. Remove the battery and magazine, take photos as you strip the gearbox, and keep the tappet return spring safe, as it is easy to lose. Make sure the nozzle is fitted correctly and the plate moves freely before closing the gearbox.
Key features
- ACM tappet plate
- For Version 3 gearboxes (as named)
- Moves the air nozzle to feed each BB
- Fixes worn or broken feeding parts
- Affordable gearbox spare
- V2 version also listed
Compatibility
Listed for Version 3 gearboxes. Tappet plates can differ in length, nozzle mount and spring hook between makers, so compare with your existing plate and check your gearbox version before ordering. Whether a tappet return spring or nozzle is included is not stated in our listing.
Care and maintenance
Use the correct grease sparingly on moving parts inside the gearbox, keeping it off the tappet nozzle and hop-up. Too much grease can collect dirt and slow the action.
Shoot quality seamless BBs to reduce jams, and if the rifle starts to misfeed, check the tappet plate, nozzle and return spring before replacing bigger parts.
Who is it for?
It is for AEG owners and techs repairing feeding problems or rebuilding a Version 3 gearbox.
Please note: Gearbox and other parts are not included. Gearbox work is needed to fit this part.
