A&K High-Strength Open Steel Bearings Bushings (8mm OD x 3mm ID)
These A&K ball-bearing bushings are high-strength open steel bearings with an 8mm outer diameter and a 3mm inner diameter. Bearings like these support the gear axles in an AEG gearbox, letting the gears spin smoothly with less friction than plain bushings.

Bearings or bushings?
Plain bushings are simple sleeves, often brass or sintered metal, that the gear axles turn in. Ball-bearing bushings contain small steel balls that roll as the axle turns, which reduces friction and can help a gearbox run more efficiently, especially with stronger springs or high-speed set-ups.
Open bearings have no shield over the balls, which makes them easier to clean and lubricate, but also means grease and debris can reach them, so keep the gearbox clean.

Compatibility
Check that your gearbox uses 8mm bushing seats and 3mm gear axles before ordering. Bushing sizes differ between gearbox makes and versions, so measure your existing bushings with calipers if you are unsure.
Care and maintenance
Fitting bearings means opening the gearbox, so if you are not confident, have them fitted by an airsoft technician. Glue the bearings in place with a suitable adhesive if your gearbox seats are loose, and check the gear shimming afterwards, as new bearings can change the spacing. Keep open bearings clean and lightly lubricated.
