The Archon Firearms Type B is an officially licensed gas blowback pistol produced by EMG and Armorer Works, modelled on Archon’s modern striker-fired handgun. Its angular slide, low bore axis and contemporary frame set it apart from the usual service-pistol replicas, and this version is finished in blue.
Licensing means the Archon trademarks are deep-engraved on the slide and the styling matches the real design. Combined with Armorer Works’ gas system, the Type B gives you a pistol that looks different, handles well and cycles with a sharp, snappy blowback.
Build and materials
The slide is CNC machined aluminium with front and rear serrations and a lightening cut, and it carries deep-engraved Archon Firearms markings. The frame is fibre-reinforced polymer with slip-resistant texturing, which keeps weight sensible while staying tough enough for holster draws and dump-pouch reloads. An accessory rail on the frame takes a compact torch or laser.
Performance
The Type B uses a short-stroke, low-travel barrel arrangement with a very low bore axis, which helps the pistol sit low in the hand and makes recoil feel controlled. A three-stage recoil spring system returns the slide smartly after each shot. The 20-round magazine runs on green gas, red gas or propane, and the hop-up is adjustable so you can match it to your BB weight.
Handling
An oversized trigger guard leaves room for a gloved finger, and the magazine release is reversible for left-handed shooters. At around 193mm long and 690g with the magazine, it is a full-size pistol that remains easy to carry on a belt or chest rig.

Compatibility
The Type B uses its own Armorer Works/EMG Archon magazines, so buy spares made specifically for this pistol. It runs on green gas, red gas or propane (with a suitable adaptor and silicone oil). The frame rail accepts compact pistol lights and lasers made for standard accessory rails. Holster options are more limited than for common service pistols, so choose a holster made for the Type B or a universal design and check fit before relying on it in a game.
Care and maintenance
Gas blowback pistols reward a little regular attention. Put a drop of silicone oil on the magazine’s fill valve and seals every few games so they stay supple and gas-tight, and wipe the outside of the slide rails and barrel with a lightly oiled cloth. Never use petroleum-based oils or solvents, as they can swell and damage rubber seals.
Fill magazines with the pistol pointing safely downwards and stop when gas starts to spit back from the valve rather than holding the can on longer. Store magazines with a small amount of gas in them so the seals stay seated, and keep the pistol and magazines somewhere cool and dry between games. Clean the inner barrel with a cleaning rod and a soft cloth if accuracy drops, and only use good quality seamless 6mm BBs.
