Description
Ares Amoeba Tactical M4 AEG With Silencer (ARES-AM-005-DE – Tan)
The Ares Amoeba Tactical M4 with Silencer (AM-005) is a compact, modern electric rifle from Amoeba, the Ares sub-brand known for bold styling and lightweight construction. This tan version (code ARES-AM-005-DE) is supplied with a silencer, as named, giving it a purposeful look straight out of the box.
Underneath the styling is Ares’s EFCS electronic gearbox, which gives a crisp trigger, protects the electrics and can be programmed with the optional Ares programmer. That makes the Amoeba Tactical a rifle that suits newer players who want something easy to run with sensible electronic protection, and experienced players who want a light rifle they can fine-tune.
EFCS electronics and internals
Our listings for this model give a cast zinc alloy gearbox shell with Ares’s Electronic Firing Control System (EFCS), a high-torque flat motor, a 6.03mm brass inner barrel and an adjustable hop-up. Our other Amoeba Tactical listings describe the EFCS as having built-in MOSFET function and gearbox lock-up protection, with the piston stopping forward after each shot, which takes strain off the spring between shots.
Fire modes are safe, semi and full auto, and the EFCS can be programmed with the optional Ares programmer to change how the rifle shoots. The listings give a 7.4V to 11.1V battery range, which gives you flexibility in how you set the rifle up.
Build and handling
Construction is listed as nylon fibre with CNC aluminium parts, keeping weight down without feeling flimsy. Our listings for the AM-005 give a length of 450mm / 680mm depending on stock position and a weight of about 2.2kg, so it is compact and light enough to carry comfortably all day.
The supplied silencer adds to the rifle’s look and gives a longer, more balanced profile. Fit a red dot to the top rail, set the hop-up with 0.20g to 0.25g seamless BBs, and the Amoeba Tactical is ready for woodland or CQB. The tan finish suits desert and contractor themed loadouts and stands out from the many black rifles on most sites.

Compatibility
The rifle takes M4-pattern AEG magazines; Ares and Amoeba M4 magazines are the safest choice, and most standard M4 AEG magazines will also fit, though it is always worth testing a new brand before a game.
Check the manual for the recommended battery type and connector before buying a battery; our listings give a 7.4V to 11.1V range. Programming the EFCS requires the Ares programmer, sold separately. Standard 20mm accessories fit the rail sections. 0.20g to 0.25g seamless BBs are a sensible starting point; heavier BBs often suit longer barrels once the hop-up is set.
Care and maintenance
Take the battery out after every game and store it separately, at a sensible storage charge, rather than leaving it connected inside the rifle. If you use LiPo batteries, charge them with a proper balance charger and keep them in a LiPo-safe bag, and never leave them charging unattended.
Run a cleaning rod with a lightly dampened patch through the inner barrel from time to time to remove dirt and residue, which helps keep the hop-up consistent. Use good-quality seamless BBs, never reuse BBs that have been on the ground, and wipe the outside over after damp or muddy games. Leave gearbox work, shimming and spring changes to a competent technician.
An electronic gearbox reads the trigger most reliably with a well-charged battery, so recharge before the battery runs very low.
Who is it for?
