Ares L1A1 Wooden Furniture Kit for L1A1 (BS-021-WD)
This Ares furniture kit (BS-021-WD) dresses the Ares L1A1 in wood, giving the rifle the classic look of the L1A1 Self-Loading Rifle as it was carried by British troops for decades. It is aimed at owners of the Ares L1A1 who want to convert their rifle to wooden furniture or replace damaged wooden parts.
The L1A1 SLR was the British Army’s standard service rifle for much of the Cold War, and wooden furniture is one of the most recognisable features of the early rifles. Ares also offers the L1A1 as a Wooden Furniture Edition, so this kit lets owners of other versions achieve the same period look. It suits re-enactors, Cold War impression players and collectors.
The look and feel of wood
Wooden furniture changes the character of a rifle completely. It feels warm and solid in the hands, gives the L1A1 its traditional profile, and instantly sets the rifle apart from modern polymer-stocked guns on the field. For a British Cold War impression, wooden furniture is the natural choice alongside period webbing and a sling.
Each piece of wood has its own grain, so no two kits look exactly alike.
Fitting
Remove the battery and magazine before starting. Follow the Ares L1A1 manual or parts diagram, removing the existing furniture one piece at a time and noting how each part is fixed. Take care with wiring that passes through the stock or handguard so that it is not pinched when the new parts go on. Check the product images to see exactly which pieces are included in the kit.

Compatibility
Designed for the Ares L1A1 SLR electric rifle. It should not be assumed to fit L1A1 or FAL replicas from other makers. Check the pieces included in the images against your rifle before ordering, and ask us if you are not sure.
Care and maintenance
Wipe wooden furniture with a dry or slightly damp cloth after use, and let it dry naturally if it gets wet, away from radiators or direct heat that could crack the wood. An occasional light coat of a suitable wood oil or wax helps protect the finish.
Avoid leaving the rifle in a damp bag or in strong sunlight for long periods, and check fixings now and then as wood can move slightly with changes in temperature and humidity.
