Description
Cyma CM009 M16A3 AEG (Metal Body)
The Cyma CM009 is an M16A3-style electric airsoft rifle with a metal body. The M16A3 is the full-length, full-auto version of the classic US service rifle, with a detachable carry handle and a flat-top receiver, and it has a classic, long-rifle look that suits US military loadouts from the 1990s onwards.
Cyma is a long-established Chinese manufacturer known for affordable, durable AEGs with metal gearboxes and good compatibility with standard parts. Its rifles are a popular choice for players who want solid performance without a premium price. The CM009 brings that heritage together with a reinforced gearbox and a long inner barrel, making it a dependable, accurate rifle that is easy to maintain and upgrade.
Build and materials
The receiver is metal, while the fixed stock and handguard are plastic, keeping the weight at around 3.1kg. The carry handle is detachable and sits on a rail, so you can remove it and fit a red dot or scope to the flat-top receiver. The dust cover is functional, adding to the realism. At just under a metre long, it is a full-length rifle that feels very stable when shouldered.
Performance and internals
Inside is a reinforced Version 2 gearbox with 8mm metal bearings and steel gears, an M125 spring with a metal spring guide, a reinforced cylinder head and a vacuum-type piston head. A long, high-torque motor drives it, and the trigger uses mechanical contacts. The 509mm, 6.08mm inner barrel sits in a one-piece metal hop-up chamber, and the hop-up is adjustable. It fires on safe, semi and full-auto.
Battery and power
The battery is housed in the handguard, which has a large storage space, and the rifle uses a mini Tamiya connector. A larger 9.6V battery is recommended for the best trigger response; check your battery fits the handguard before buying.

Use a battery that fits the handguard, with a mini Tamiya connector or a suitable adaptor. Heavier 0.25g to 0.28g BBs suit the long barrel well.
Care and maintenance
Always remove the battery from the gun when you have finished playing, and store batteries according to their type: LiPo batteries should be kept at storage charge in a LiPo-safe bag, and never left charging unattended. After use, wipe the gun down, run a cleaning rod with a clean patch through the inner barrel occasionally, and keep the hop-up area free of dirt.
Fire the gun on semi-auto a few times at the end of the day to release tension on the main spring, and use good quality seamless 6mm BBs to protect the barrel, hop-up rubber and gearbox. If the gun is stored for a while, keep it somewhere dry at room temperature.
Who is it for?
