Description

Double Bell PDW (Polymer Body – Blue – 808)

This is the Double Bell PDW, model 808, with a polymer body and a blue finish. It is a compact personal defence weapon style AEG with a folding stock, designed to be quick to handle in tight spaces and light enough to carry all day, making it a good value choice for CQB and woodland skirmishes alike.

Double Bell is well known for affordable, robust AEGs that give new players plenty of performance for the money. The PDW keeps things simple and practical, and the blue finish makes it a distinctive option for UK players.

Build

Retailer listings for the Double Bell PDW (DB-808) describe a polymer body combined with a metal rail system, including a monolithic upper rail, and a metal folding stock. The polymer body keeps the weight down, while the metal rails and stock add strength where it is most needed.

With the stock folded, the PDW becomes very compact, which is handy for storage, transport and moving through buildings. With it extended, you get a stable shooting position for longer engagements.

Performance and internals

The same listings state that the PDW uses a full metal version 2 (V2) gearbox and comes with a 100-round magazine. A V2 gearbox is one of the most common designs in airsoft, which makes spare parts and upgrades easy to find later on.

The 100-round magazine encourages measured shooting and is quiet compared with a winding high-capacity magazine. Pick up a few spares so you can stay in the game for longer.

Getting started

Before your first game, fully charge a suitable battery, fit it as the manual describes and connect it carefully. Load a magazine and start with the hop-up turned off, then fire a few shots at a safe backstop and add hop a little at a time until the BBs fly flat without rising at the end of their flight.

Folding stock PDWs are great fun indoors. Get used to shouldering it quickly with the stock extended, and practise changing magazines so you are ready for close-quarters games.

Use good quality seamless 6mm BBs. A battery and charger are not listed as included.

Care and maintenance

Take the battery out after every game and store it away from the replica, and charge LiPo batteries only on a proper balance charger that you are supervising. Clean the inner barrel with a cleaning rod and a dry patch every few games, as dirt and broken BB fragments are the main causes of flyers.

Use good quality seamless BBs of a consistent weight, check external screws and accessories before each game day, and store the replica somewhere dry. Leave internal gearbox work to someone experienced with AEGs.

Who is it for?

The Double Bell PDW suits new and budget-conscious players who want a light, compact AEG for CQB and general skirmishing, and anyone looking for a distinctive blue rifle.

Please note: A battery, charger and BBs are not listed as included. Always wear suitable eye protection when using any airsoft replica, and have it chronographed at your site before play.
