Description

Double Eagle 555 AEG Rifle (M82 – Black)

The Double Eagle 555 (model M82) is an affordable electric airsoft rifle in black, styled on the compact Swiss 55x family of rifles. It is an easy-to-use, budget-friendly way to try airsoft, to set up targets in the back garden or to equip family and friends for a first game.

Double Eagle produces a wide range of entry-level replicas, and the M82 follows that approach: a light, mainly synthetic build and simple operation make it approachable for newcomers and younger players. It is not designed to compete with high-end skirmish rifles, but it is a cheap, enjoyable introduction to how an electric rifle works.

Build and handling

A US retailer lists the M82 as a synthetic rifle of about 34.5 inches (around 875mm) in length and about 4lb (around 1.8kg) in weight, styled on the SIG 552. That light weight makes it easy for smaller or younger players to handle, and the ventilated rubber buttplate helps it sit securely in the shoulder.

Weaver mounting points allow you to add a scope or red dot sight, and the familiar layout of pistol grip, magazine and stock is simple to learn. It is a sensible way to find out whether airsoft is for you before investing in a more advanced rifle.

How it works

The M82 is an electric rifle: a rechargeable battery drives a motor and gearbox that compress air behind each BB. It offers semi-automatic and full-automatic fire, has a manual safety and an adjustable hop-up, so you can fine-tune the backspin for better range. The listed battery type is 7.2V.

The listed magazine capacity is 36 rounds. A smaller magazine encourages careful shooting and makes the rifle easy to manage for new players.

Getting started

Charge the battery fully on a suitable charger and fit it as the manual describes. Load the magazine, keep the rifle on safe until you are ready, and fire a few shots at a safe target with a suitable backstop. Adjust the hop-up a little at a time until BBs fly level.

Use good quality seamless BBs of the weight the manual recommends, and always supervise younger players.

Key features

  • Affordable electric airsoft rifle
  • Styled on the Swiss 55x family
  • Light, mainly synthetic build
  • Semi and full-auto fire
  • Adjustable hop-up
  • Weaver mounting for optics
  • Ventilated rubber buttplate
  • Black finish

Compatibility

Use magazines made for the Double Eagle M82, as entry-level rifles often use their own magazine designs. Replacement batteries should match the listed 7.2V type, fit the battery space and use the same connector. Weaver-mount optics and accessories fit the mounting points; choose lightweight items to suit the rifle.

Care and maintenance

Remove the battery after use and charge it only on a suitable charger, never unattended. Use clean, good quality BBs; cheap or reused BBs are the most common cause of jams in entry-level rifles.

Clean the inner barrel now and then with a rod and soft patch, wipe the rifle down after outdoor use and store it somewhere dry, away from heat. Avoid forcing the controls or the magazine.

Who is it for?

The M82 suits beginners, younger players under supervision and anyone who wants an inexpensive electric rifle for garden target shooting or casual games.

Please note: A battery and charger are not named in this listing, so please check with us before ordering. Always wear suitable eye and face protection when using or testing any airsoft replica.
