The JW3 Combat Master is a gas blowback pistol produced by EMG and Armorer Works under licence from Taran Tactical Innovations (TTI). It recreates the custom 2011-pattern competition pistol made famous on screen, with TTI’s distinctive slide machining, an island-style barrel and the purposeful lines of a modern race gun. This version is full metal and finished in blue.
Officially licensed replicas carry the correct trademarks and styling, which matters to collectors as much as it does to players. EMG’s licensed range is known for high-quality machining and strong gas performance, and the Combat Master is one of the most recognisable pistols in it. If you want a sidearm that feels special every time you draw it, this is a strong candidate.
Build and materials
The slide and frame are CNC machined aluminium, giving a rigid, weighty pistol with sharp, clean detail and none of the creak that cheaper polymer pistols can develop. The slide carries laser-engraved TTI markings and lightening cuts, and the grip is moulded with stippling for a secure hold. A full-length stainless steel guide rod sits under the slide, and the island-style barrel is visible through the cut-out at the front of the slide, which is one of the Combat Master’s signature details.
Performance
The Combat Master is a gas blowback pistol, so every shot cycles the slide for a satisfying kick and fast follow-up shots. It runs on green gas, red gas or propane, and the hop-up is adjustable so you can tune it to your preferred BB weight. The 2011-pattern magazine holds 30 rounds, giving you plenty of shots between reloads.
Being a semi-automatic pistol, it rewards accurate, deliberate shooting, which suits its competition heritage.
Handling
Competition features make it quick and comfortable to shoot: an undercut trigger guard lets your hand sit high on the grip, a flared magazine well guides the magazine home during fast reloads, and an extended magazine release is easy to reach. Target-style sights with a fibre optic front sight and an adjustable rear sight make it easy to pick up the front sight quickly.

Compatibility
The Combat Master is built on the 2011/Hi-Capa style platform, so it uses 2011-pattern gas magazines; buy spares made for this model or confirmed compatible with it. It runs on green gas, red gas or propane (with a suitable adaptor and silicone oil). Because of its compensated, island-barrel front end, it needs a holster made for this model or an open-fronted race or universal holster. Check fitment before buying a holster.
Care and maintenance
Gas blowback pistols reward a little regular attention. Put a drop of silicone oil on the magazine’s fill valve and seals every few games so they stay supple and gas-tight, and wipe the outside of the slide rails and barrel with a lightly oiled cloth. Never use petroleum-based oils or solvents, as they can swell and damage rubber seals.
Fill magazines with the pistol pointing safely downwards and stop when gas starts to spit back from the valve rather than holding the can on longer. Store magazines with a small amount of gas in them so the seals stay seated, and keep the pistol and magazines somewhere cool and dry between games. Clean the inner barrel with a cleaning rod and a soft cloth if accuracy drops, and only use good quality seamless 6mm BBs.
