Description
FMA Wire Mesh “RoboCop” Mask (TB1016)
The FMA Wire Mesh “RoboCop” Mask (TB1016) is a character-style face mask with a wire mesh eye area, inspired by the look of the famous film cyborg. It is one of FMA’s range of novelty wire mesh masks, which pair a distinctive face design with the practical, fog-free benefits of mesh.
Masks like this are popular with players who want to stand out on the field, on themed games and at events, or who simply want a bit of fun with their loadout. FMA is a long-established maker of airsoft protective gear, helmets and accessories.
Mesh eye protection
Wire mesh eye areas stop a whole BB and never fog, which is why many players like them for hot days, hard running and indoor games. The trade-off is that mesh does not stop everything: small fragments of a shattered BB, grit and dust can still pass through the holes.
For that reason, many players wear a pair of impact-rated shooting glasses or full-seal goggles underneath, and some sites require exactly that. Always check your site’s rules on mesh before you rely on it as your only eye protection.
Fit and wear
Adjust the head straps so the mask sits close to your face without pressing on your nose or cheeks, and check it stays put when you turn your head quickly or go prone. Make sure you can still see clearly to the sides and get a comfortable cheek weld on your replica.
Character masks often change the way your face sits behind a stock, so spend a few minutes shouldering your rifle at home before game day. If you wear a helmet or headset, try them together to make sure everything sits comfortably.
Key features
- FMA wire mesh face mask
- “RoboCop” film-inspired design
- Wire mesh eye area that does not fog
- Stands out on themed games and events
- FMA code TB1016
- Can be worn with impact-rated glasses underneath
Compatibility
Worn on its own, or over a pair of slim impact-rated glasses for extra protection. Check that it suits your helmet, headset or hood, and confirm your site accepts mesh before you play.
Care and maintenance
Brush off dirt and dried mud with a soft brush after use, and wipe the mask over with a damp cloth. Let it dry naturally at room temperature before packing it away, away from direct heat, which can warp plastic or fibreglass parts.
Before every game, inspect the mesh for dents, broken wires or any area that has pushed in or pulled away from the frame, and check straps and fixings for wear. A damaged mesh panel should be replaced before the mask is used again. Store it in a bag so it is not crushed under heavier kit.
Who is it for?
For players who want a distinctive, film-inspired mask for themed games, events and everyday skirmishing, and who prefer the fog-free view of mesh.
Please note: Wire mesh stops whole BBs but not fragments or grit. Wear suitable impact-rated eye protection where your site requires it.
