Description
GHK AUG-A3 Raptor Gas Blowback Rifle (Black)
The GHK AUG-A3 is a gas blowback bullpup rifle from GHK, the Taiwanese maker best known for its realistic gas rifles, and this one is finished in black. The AUG is one of the most distinctive rifle designs ever made, and the A3 version adds a top rail for modern optics.
A bullpup places the action behind the grip, which keeps the overall length short while retaining a useful barrel length. Combined with GHK’s gas blowback system, that makes the AUG-A3 a compact, realistic rifle with a real kick on every shot, popular with collectors and with players who prefer gas rifles.
Gas blowback performance
A retailer listing gives the AUG-A3 a 30-round gas magazine running on green gas or top gas; only gas made for airsoft should ever be used, as lighter fluid or butane will damage the seals. Each shot cycles the bolt, giving the sharp recoil and sound that make gas rifles so popular.
The same listing describes a selector with safe, semi-only and a setting that enables the AUG-style two-stage trigger, firing semi on a partial pull and full auto on a full pull. The hop-up is adjustable, with access after removing the outer barrel.
Build and handling
The listing describes a polymer body, and gives an overall length of about 725mm and a weight of about 3.4kg, with a shorter outer barrel for CQB use. The weight sits well back towards the shoulder, which is typical of a bullpup and makes the rifle feel balanced and easy to hold on aim.
A 14mm counter-clockwise thread is listed under the flash hider, for mock suppressors and tracer units. The A3 top rail takes red dots and magnified optics.
Using gas in the UK climate
Gas pressure falls as temperatures drop, so on cold days keep spare magazines warm in a pocket or pouch and expect slightly reduced performance. Green gas suits cooler weather and top gas gives more punch in warm conditions; follow GHK’s guidance on which gas to use.

Compatibility
Use GHK AUG gas magazines; please check with us before buying spares, as AEG and other brands’ AUG magazines are not interchangeable with a gas blowback rifle. Use only airsoft gas, and seamless BBs of 0.20g to 0.28g are a sensible range for a gas rifle.
The 14mm CCW thread suits most mock suppressors and tracer units, and the top rail accepts standard 20mm optics. Choose optics that can cope with gas blowback recoil.
Care and maintenance
Use the gas recommended in the manual and fill magazines in short bursts without overfilling. A drop of silicone oil on the magazine fill valve and seals now and then keeps them supple, and magazines are best stored with a little gas in them so the seals stay seated. Gas performance drops in cold weather, so keep spare magazines warm in a pouch or pocket on chilly days.
Gas blowback rifles have more moving parts than electric replicas, so keep the bolt carrier and nozzle lightly lubricated with a suitable silicone product and wipe away grit after each game. Run a cleaning rod through the inner barrel occasionally, use clean seamless BBs only, and store the rifle unloaded somewhere cool and dry.
Who is it for?
The GHK AUG-A3 is for gas rifle enthusiasts, bullpup fans and collectors who want a realistic, recoiling AUG with modern optic options, at home in CQB and in woodland.
Please note: Gas and BBs are not listed as included. Always wear suitable eye protection, and full-face protection where your site requires it, when using or testing any airsoft replica.
