Description
Golden Eagle M870 Sawed-Off Tri-Shot Gas Pump Action Shotgun (Real Wood – Black – 8877RW – V2)
The Golden Eagle 8877RW is the sawed-off version of Golden Eagle’s M870 tri-shot gas shotgun, combining a black metal receiver and outer barrel with real wood furniture. With its cut-down barrel and pistol-grip profile it is the most compact of the M870 family, and one of the most characterful shotguns in airsoft.
It uses the same proven tri-shot gas system as the full-size models, so every shot sends three BBs downrange, or six if you switch the internal selector. That makes it a hard-hitting secondary or a close-quarters primary, and a favourite for post-apocalyptic, western and character loadouts.
Build and design
The receiver and outer barrel are metal, while the forend and grip are real wood, which gives the 8877RW a warm, traditional look and a solid, quality feel in the hand. Overall length is about 641mm with an outer barrel of about 315mm, as listed, so it is short enough to carry in a leg rig or on a sling across your back.
Front and rear sights are fitted, so you can aim without adding an optic, although at the ranges a sawed-off is used you will mostly be pointing and shooting.
How the tri-shot system works
Three inner barrels sit side by side, so each pump and trigger pull fires three BBs together, or six with the selector set. BBs are loaded into shotgun-style shells holding about 30 BBs each, and the fixed hop-up is set at the factory, so the shotgun is ready to use once filled with gas and loaded.
Getting started
Fill the shotgun with green gas or 134a, holding the can upright and filling in short bursts until gas just starts to spit back. Load a shell with BBs using a speedloader, insert it, and work the pump fully before firing a few test shots at a safe backstop.
Have the shotgun chronographed at your site before play, and practise loading shells at home so reloads are quick and smooth on game day.
Key features
- Sawed-off M870-style gas pump-action shotgun
- Metal receiver and outer barrel
- Real wood forend and grip
- Tri-shot: three or six BBs per shot
- Shells hold about 30 BBs
- Fixed, factory-set hop-up
- Front and rear sights
- Very compact: approx. 641mm long
Compatibility
Uses Golden Eagle M870-series shells, filled with a speedloader; spare shells are well worth having so you can reload quickly. Use a gas made for airsoft replicas and good quality 0.20g BBs to suit the fixed hop-up. Leg holsters and slings should be checked against the shotgun’s length before buying.
Care and maintenance
Treat the real wood with care: wipe it dry if it gets wet, and keep the shotgun away from direct heat so the wood does not crack. Store it with a little gas in the reservoir to keep the seals in good condition, and add a drop of silicone oil to the fill valve every few fills.
Keep shells and BBs clean, use seamless BBs, and give the metal parts an occasional light wipe with silicone oil to prevent marks. Never use petroleum-based oils on the seals.
Who is it for?
The 8877RW suits players who want a compact, hard-hitting shotgun as a CQB primary or a characterful secondary, and anyone building a western, post-apocalyptic or role-play loadout.
Please note: Gas, BBs and spare shells are not listed as included. Always wear suitable eye and face protection, and check your site’s rules on shotguns and secondaries before play.
