Description
G&G GR14 Black ETU
The GR14 is G&G Armament’s electric replica of the M14, the American battle rifle that served from the late 1950s onwards and is still recognised everywhere for its long, purposeful lines. This version is finished in black and is fitted with G&G’s electronic trigger unit (ETU) and MOSFET as standard, bringing modern internals to a traditional design.
G&G have been building AEGs in Taiwan for many years and are well regarded for solid, dependable replicas that work well out of the box. The GR14 is a full-length rifle, measuring 1120mm, and its metal construction gives it a real sense of weight and substance in the hands. It is a natural fit for players who enjoy historical and Cold War themed games, designated marksman roles, or simply want something that looks and handles differently from the sea of M4s at most sites.
Build and materials
The GR14 is built from metal, giving a rigid platform with very little flex between the action and the long barrel assembly. At around 3.39kg it is heavier than a typical carbine, which many players find helps keep the rifle steady when taking careful aimed shots. The long sight radius of the traditional M14 layout also encourages a deliberate, accurate style of shooting.
Performance and internals
Inside, G&G’s ETU and MOSFET replace the traditional mechanical trigger contacts with electronic switching. This gives a crisp, consistent trigger response and protects the contacts from the burning and wear that can eventually affect older AEGs. Power comes from a 7.4V battery with a small Tamiya connector.
The hop-up is adjustable and is reached by pulling back the charging handle, which exposes the adjustment wheel without any need to strip the rifle. That makes it easy to fine-tune the hop at the safe zone when changing BB weight or when conditions change through the day. The rifle offers semi and full-auto fire.
Handling
The M14 layout is different from an AR, so it is worth a little practice. The magazine rocks into place in the traditional M14 manner, front first and then rocked back to lock. The long stock gives a natural, stable shoulder position, and the overall length makes the GR14 best suited to woodland, open ground and outdoor sites where its reach and steady handling are an advantage.

Compatibility
The GR14 accepts G&G M14 magazines. M14 magazines from other brands may also work but fit can vary, so test before relying on them in a game. Choose a 7.4V LiPo with a small Tamiya connector, or use a suitable adapter. Most players find 0.25g or 0.28g BBs give good consistency in a full-length rifle, but use whatever weight suits your site and adjust the hop-up to match.
Care and maintenance
Unplug and remove the battery after every game and store LiPos at storage charge in a safe bag. Use the supplied cleaning rod to run a clean patch through the inner barrel every few games. Use good-quality seamless BBs and avoid any that have been dropped on the ground. Keep the high-capacity magazine wound only during play and empty it before storing. Wipe the exterior down after wet days, and avoid firing the rifle on full auto for long strings to reduce stress on the gearbox.
Who is it for?
The GR14 is for players who want a classic battle rifle with modern, reliable electronics, whether for historical events, marksman roles or simply for the satisfaction of using something different. Its length and weight suit outdoor play, and the ETU means it should keep a sharp trigger feel for many games to come.
Please note: Battery and charger are not included. Always wear suitable eye and face protection and check the power limits at your site before play.
