Description
Huntsman Tactical H17 Custom GBB Pistol Purple Case
Huntsman Tactical’s H17 Custom builds on the H17 gas blowback pistol with custom styling, and this version comes in purple with a case. The result is a distinctive sidearm that still handles like the straightforward G17-style pistol it is based on.
Its purple finish gives it a bold personality and makes it easy to spot in a kit bag. Please check the product images to see exactly which parts are coloured. The custom styling differs from the standard H17, so the images are the best guide to the slide and frame details of this version.
Design and handling
Underneath the custom styling, the H17 Custom keeps the G17 layout: an ergonomic grip, simple controls and a slide shape that points naturally. That makes it quick to learn and easy to use under pressure, which is exactly what you want from a sidearm.
Custom-styled pistols are popular with players who like their kit to reflect their own taste, and with collectors who enjoy having something a little out of the ordinary in the rack. The purple finish adds to that individual look.
How a gas blowback pistol works
In a gas blowback pistol the magazine holds both the BBs and the gas. When you pull the trigger, the hammer strikes a valve in the magazine and releases a burst of gas: part of it sends the BB through the hop-up and down the barrel, and the rest drives the slide back, cocking the hammer and loading the next BB as the slide returns. The result is a pistol that cycles and recoils much like the real thing.
Gas pressure falls as the temperature drops, so gas pistols are at their best in mild to warm conditions. On cold days, keep the magazine in an inside pocket between uses, and fire at a steady pace rather than in long strings so the magazine has time to recover.
About Huntsman
Huntsman Tactical is an airsoft brand whose range includes the H17, H18c and H34 gas blowback pistols as well as parts and accessories to support them.
Getting started
Before the first game, read the manual so you know the controls, the safety arrangement and how to fill and load the magazine. Fill the magazine with the gas the manual recommends in short bursts, holding the can upright, and give it a moment to settle. Load BBs, then fire a few shots at a safe backstop to get a feel for the trigger and the way the slide cycles.
Why a case helps
A case keeps your pistol protected when you travel to and from a game, stops it being knocked around in a kit bag and gives you a tidy place to keep it, and its magazines, at home. It is also a sensible, discreet way to transport a replica.

Compatibility
Use good quality seamless 6mm BBs and the gas recommended in the manual. A holster made for the correct pistol shape, and with room for any optic or muzzle device you fit, will keep the pistol secure on the move.
Huntsman lists H17 series gas magazines in 6mm, and we stock plastic and HP versions listed for the H17 HG3 DE series. Please ask us to confirm which magazine suits this pistol before buying spares, and test any new magazine before relying on it in a game.
Care and maintenance
Gas blowback pistols reward a little regular attention. Put a drop of silicone oil on the magazine’s fill valve and seals every few fills so they stay supple and gas-tight, and wipe the slide rails with a lightly oiled cloth from time to time. Clean the inner barrel with a cleaning rod and a soft patch if accuracy starts to drop.
Fill magazines in short bursts and stop when gas starts to spit back from the valve rather than holding the can on longer. Store magazines with a small amount of gas in them so the seals stay seated, and keep the pistol somewhere cool and dry between games.
Use only silicone-based lubricants on rubber seals and O-rings. Petroleum-based oils and solvents can make rubber swell and break down, which causes leaks.
Who is it for?
The H17 Custom is for players who want a G17-style gas pistol with more character than the standard model, in a purple finish and with a case to keep it protected. It suits skirmishers after a distinctive sidearm and collectors of coloured and custom pistols.
Please note: Apart from the pistol and case named in the listing, the box contents are not stated, so please ask us if you need to know before ordering. Always wear suitable eye protection when using any airsoft replica, and have it chronographed at your site before play.
