Description
Huntsman Tactical H17 Gas Blowback Pistol Red Case
The Huntsman Tactical H17 is a G17-style gas blowback airsoft pistol, offered here in red and supplied with a case. The G17 pattern is a natural choice for a sidearm: it is simple to operate, comfortable in the hand and supported by a wide range of holsters and accessories.
Finished in red, it has a bold, distinctive look that stands apart from the usual black pistols. Please check the product images to see exactly which parts are coloured.
Build and features
A UK retailer listing of the H17 with case describes a metal slide on a polymer body, a metal magazine, front and rear sights, and a safe and semi-automatic setup with a working safety. That combination gives the pistol a solid feel where it counts while keeping the overall weight manageable.
The G17 layout is one of the most familiar pistol shapes in airsoft. The grip is comfortable, the controls are simple and the pistol points naturally, which makes it a good choice for players picking up their first sidearm as well as experienced players who want a straightforward secondary.
How a gas blowback pistol works
In a gas blowback pistol the magazine holds both the BBs and the gas. When you pull the trigger, the hammer strikes a valve in the magazine and releases a burst of gas: part of it sends the BB through the hop-up and down the barrel, and the rest drives the slide back, cocking the hammer and loading the next BB as the slide returns. The result is a pistol that cycles and recoils much like the real thing.
Gas pressure falls as the temperature drops, so gas pistols are at their best in mild to warm conditions. On cold days, keep the magazine in an inside pocket between uses, and fire at a steady pace rather than in long strings so the magazine has time to recover.
About Huntsman
Huntsman Tactical is an airsoft brand whose range includes the H17, H18c and H34 gas blowback pistols as well as parts and accessories to support them.
Getting started
Before the first game, read the manual so you know the controls, the safety arrangement and how to fill and load the magazine. Fill the magazine with the gas the manual recommends in short bursts, holding the can upright, and give it a moment to settle. Load BBs, then fire a few shots at a safe backstop to get a feel for the trigger and the way the slide cycles.
Why a case helps
A case keeps your pistol protected when you travel to and from a game, stops it being knocked around in a kit bag and gives you a tidy place to keep it, and its magazines, at home. It is also a sensible, discreet way to transport a replica.

Compatibility
Use good quality seamless 6mm BBs and the gas recommended in the manual. A holster made for the correct pistol shape, and with room for any optic or muzzle device you fit, will keep the pistol secure on the move.
Huntsman lists H17 series gas magazines in 6mm, and we stock plastic and HP versions listed for the H17 HG3 DE series. Please ask us to confirm which magazine suits this pistol before buying spares, and test any new magazine before relying on it in a game.
Care and maintenance
Gas blowback pistols reward a little regular attention. Put a drop of silicone oil on the magazine’s fill valve and seals every few fills so they stay supple and gas-tight, and wipe the slide rails with a lightly oiled cloth from time to time. Clean the inner barrel with a cleaning rod and a soft patch if accuracy starts to drop.
Fill magazines in short bursts and stop when gas starts to spit back from the valve rather than holding the can on longer. Store magazines with a small amount of gas in them so the seals stay seated, and keep the pistol somewhere cool and dry between games.
Use only silicone-based lubricants on rubber seals and O-rings. Petroleum-based oils and solvents can make rubber swell and break down, which causes leaks.
Who is it for?
The H17 suits players looking for an affordable, easy-to-use G17-style pistol, anyone who wants a dependable sidearm in a red finish, and players who like their kit to come with a proper case for storage and travel.
Please note: Apart from the pistol and case, the box contents are not stated, so please ask us if you need to know before ordering. Always wear suitable eye protection when using any airsoft replica, and have it chronographed at your site before play.
