The JG Swat 5K CQB is a very compact electric SMG (AEG) in the style of the MP5K, model 204T, finished in black and supplied with a battery and charger, as named. The MP5K is the short, front-gripped member of the MP5 family, designed for close quarters and concealment, and the 5K brings that compact shape to an affordable, complete package.

How it works
An AEG uses a rechargeable battery to drive a motor, which turns the gears inside a gearbox to pull back and release a spring-loaded piston. Each cycle pushes a burst of air behind a BB. Because the power comes from the battery and spring rather than gas, performance stays consistent in cold weather.
The adjustable hop-up lets you tune the backspin on the BB to suit your chosen weight. On a compact SMG, 0.20g or 0.25g BBs work well at typical CQB distances.
Handling
The 5K is short and light, so it can be carried on a sling, stowed in a bag or held up for long periods while clearing rooms. Its compact receiver makes it quick to point in tight spaces, and its low weight makes it easy to manage for younger or smaller players.
Compact SMGs have very limited battery space, which is why a matched battery and charger are included. If you buy a spare, check it fits the same space and uses the same connector.
Getting started
Fully charge the battery on the supplied charger before first use, following the instructions in the manual, then fit it and connect it carefully. Load a magazine, wind it if it is a high-capacity type, and start with the hop-up turned off. Fire a few shots at a safe target and add hop a little at a time until BBs fly flat without rising at the end of their flight. Good seamless 0.20g to 0.25g BBs are a sensible starting point.
Have the replica chronographed at your site before you play, and keep a note of the hop setting that suits your favourite BB weight so you can return to it quickly.

Compatibility
The 5K takes MP5-pattern AEG magazines; fit varies slightly between brands, so test spares before relying on them in a game. Replacement batteries must fit the compact battery space.

Care and maintenance
Take the battery out after every game and store it separately at a sensible storage charge, rather than leaving it connected inside the replica. Charge LiPo batteries with a proper balance charger, keep them in a LiPo-safe bag and never leave them charging unattended; NiMH packs should be charged with a smart charger that stops when the pack is full.
Run a cleaning rod with a lightly dampened patch through the inner barrel from time to time to clear dirt and residue, which keeps the hop-up consistent. Use good-quality seamless BBs, never reuse BBs that have been on the ground, and wipe the outside over after damp or muddy games. Leave gearbox work, shimming and spring changes to a competent technician.
Keep the compact receiver and magazine well free from grit, and check the grip and sling-point screws now and then.
