Description
King Arms M1A1 Paratrooper Real Wood Gas Blowback Airsoft Rifle
This is the King Arms M1A1 Paratrooper, a gas blowback replica of the folding-stock M1 Carbine carried by American airborne troops in the Second World War. It combines real wood furniture with a folding wire stock, giving the distinctive look of the paratrooper carbine and a compact length for carrying and storage.
King Arms is a long-established Hong Kong manufacturer known for quality historical and modern replicas, and its M1 Carbine family has a strong following among Second World War reenactors and collectors. We also stock King Arms’ CO2 M1A1 Carbine in beech wood; this version is listed as green gas powered.
Build and materials
Retailer listings describe real wood furniture, a full metal receiver and barrel, a reinforced steel folding stock and an aluminium bolt. The folding stock swings to the side to make the carbine compact, just as paratroopers needed, and locks open for shooting. The listing also notes that the aluminium bolt may show small cosmetic marks from the factory.
Period-correct iron sights with an adjustable rear peep sight keep the look authentic. Real wood varies a little in grain and colour, so every rifle has a slightly individual finish.
How it works
In a gas blowback rifle the magazine holds both the BBs and the gas. When you pull the trigger, a valve in the magazine releases a measured burst of gas: part of it sends the BB down the barrel, and the rest drives the bolt back, which cocks the action and picks up the next BB as it returns. The result is a working bolt, felt recoil and a realistic manual of arms that an electric replica cannot match.
The hop-up is adjustable, so you can tune it for heavier BBs. Because gas powers the action, performance depends on temperature. Gas replicas are at their best in mild to warm weather; on cold days the gas pressure drops and the cycle slows. Keeping spare magazines in an inside pocket between uses helps keep the rifle running consistently.
Getting started
Read the manual so you know how to load, fold the stock and use the safety. Fill a magazine with the recommended gas in short bursts, holding the can upright, and let it settle. Load BBs, chamber the first round and fire a few shots at a safe backstop with the hop-up off, then add hop gradually until the BBs fly flat. Have the rifle chronographed at your site before play.

King Arms also makes CO2 magazines for its CO2 M1A1, and these are a different system. Use the gas recommended in the manual and good quality seamless 6mm BBs.
Care and maintenance
Keep the bolt and moving parts lightly lubricated with a silicone-based lubricant, and clean the inner barrel now and then with a rod and dry patch. Avoid getting oil on the hop-up rubber, and use only good quality seamless BBs.
Put a drop of silicone oil on each magazine’s fill valve and seals every few fills, store magazines with a little gas in them so the seals stay tight, and never overfill. Real wood can be kept looking good with a light coat of a suitable wood wax or oil, and should be kept away from damp and direct heat. Store the rifle unloaded, with the magazine removed, somewhere dry.
