Description

King Arms SAA .45 Peacemaker Revolver (S – Electroplating Black – KA-PG-10-S-BK2)

The King Arms SAA .45 Peacemaker is a gas-powered replica of the classic single action army revolver, the six-shooter that became the defining sidearm of the American frontier. This is the S (short barrel) version in an electroplated black finish, the most compact model in King Arms’ Peacemaker range.

King Arms has a long reputation for well-made, realistic metal replicas, and the Peacemaker is built for people who enjoy the look and feel of a traditional revolver. With full metal construction, shell loading and a hammer that has to be cocked for every shot, it captures the slow, deliberate handling of the original. The short barrel makes it neat, well balanced and easy to carry in a holster.

Build and finish

The revolver is full metal, giving it a solid weight in the hand of around 0.94kg. The electroplated black finish is smooth and even, and contrasts nicely with the classic plough-handle grip shape that makes the SAA so recognisable. Overall length is about 260mm, with an inner barrel of around 133mm.

Like the original, it has a side loading gate and a rotating cylinder, and the cylinder holds six individual shells. Each shell carries one BB, so loading the revolver feels much like loading the real thing, round by round.

How it works

The Peacemaker runs on airsoft gas (green gas or top gas). It is a single action, non-blowback design: you cock the hammer with your thumb, which rotates the cylinder to the next shell, and a pull of the trigger then fires the shot. The hop-up is fixed, so there is nothing to adjust, which keeps things simple for target shooting.

This style of shooting rewards a steady, unhurried approach. It is perfect for cowboy-style target practice, western-themed events, and collectors who want a working replica of one of the most famous revolvers ever made.

Getting started

Fill the revolver with airsoft gas as the manual describes, holding the can upright and filling in short bursts. Load a BB into the front of each shell, then load the shells into the cylinder through the loading gate, turning the cylinder one chamber at a time. Cock the hammer for each shot, as a single action revolver does not cock itself when you pull the trigger.

Fire a few shots at a safe backstop to get used to the trigger and sights before using it at a game or on the range. Have it chronographed at your site before play.

Compatibility

Use King Arms Peacemaker (SAA) shells for spares; shells from other makers may not fit the cylinder. Single action army holsters suit the shape, and the short barrel fits most western-style holsters made for shorter revolvers, but check the length before buying. Use only gas made for airsoft guns, never lighter fluid or butane, and good quality 6mm BBs; 0.20g BBs are a sensible choice.

Care and maintenance

Put a drop of silicone oil on the gas fill valve every few fills, and store the revolver with a little gas in it so the seals stay supple. Never use petroleum-based oils, and only use gas made for airsoft guns. Keep the shells clean and check that each one still holds a BB firmly.

Wipe the metal surfaces with a soft cloth after handling to remove fingerprints and moisture, as plated and blued finishes can mark if left damp. Store the revolver somewhere dry, unloaded and with the hammer down, and clean the inner barrel with a rod and patch now and then.

Who is it for?

This Peacemaker is for western enthusiasts, collectors and target shooters who enjoy a traditional single action revolver, and for anyone who wants a compact, all-metal six-shooter that looks the part in a display cabinet as much as at the range.

Please note: gas and BBs are not included. Always wear suitable eye protection when shooting.
