Description
NGT Alkaline Battery – 9V
The NGT 9V Alkaline Battery is a replacement power cell for bite alarms, receivers and other tackle-box electronics. A flat battery in a bite alarm is easy to miss until it is too late, so keeping a spare in your bag is one of the cheapest bits of insurance an angler can buy.
NGT recommend this battery for use in their Profiler, GTS Pro and Dynamic MK2 bite alarm sets, and it will also fit any other device that takes a standard 9V battery, such as other alarms, receivers or head torches and accessories designed around the same cell.
Why alkaline?
Alkaline batteries are the standard choice for bite alarms because they offer a steady supply of power over a long period and hold their charge well in storage. That means a spare can sit in your tackle box for months and still be ready to use when you need it. They are also widely used, so replacements are easy to find.
On the bank
Bite alarm sets usually draw only a small current, so a fresh battery will typically last a long time, but cold weather and heavy use of LEDs, volume and receiver range will shorten that life. If your alarm’s tone becomes weak, the LEDs dim or your receiver drops out, the battery is the first thing to check. Swapping it is quick, and having a spare means you can do it there and then rather than fishing on with an unreliable alarm.

Care and maintenance
Store spare batteries in a cool, dry place and keep them away from keys, coins and other metal objects that could short the terminals. Remove batteries from alarms and receivers if you will not be fishing for a while, as an old battery left in a device can leak and damage the contacts. Do not try to recharge alkaline batteries, and recycle used ones at a battery collection point.
Who is it for?
Any angler using NGT Profiler, GTS Pro or Dynamic MK2 bite alarms, or other 9V-powered tackle electronics, who wants a reliable spare to keep in the bag.
