Description
Double Eagle 13.9 DWS-180 Buffer GBBR Tan
This is Double Eagle’s 13.9 DWS-180 gas blowback rifle in tan, the Buffer version, which by its name uses a buffer-tube style stock. A GBB rifle gives you the moving bolt, felt recoil and realistic handling that make gas replicas so involving to shoot, and the DWS-180 brings that to Double Eagle’s newer range.
The tan finish suits desert, earth-toned and multicam loadouts. It suits milsim players and skirmishers who want a realistic gas rifle, and anyone ready to move on from an electric replica.
The DWS-180 range
Double Eagle is a long-established airsoft manufacturer whose range runs from affordable electric replicas through to gas blowback rifles, including the G101 MWS-pattern M4/N4 rifles it builds with EMG.
The number in the name identifies the version. On rifles like these it most likely refers to the barrel length in inches, so a higher number means a longer barrel and overall length, but please check the product images and contact us if you need exact dimensions.
How it works
In a gas blowback rifle the magazine holds both the BBs and the gas. When you pull the trigger, a valve in the magazine releases a measured burst of gas: part of it sends the BB down the barrel, and the rest drives the bolt carrier back, cocking the hammer and picking up the next BB as it returns. The result is a working bolt, felt recoil and a realistic manual of arms that an electric replica cannot match.
Because gas powers the action, performance depends on temperature. Gas rifles are at their best in mild to warm weather, and on cold days the gas pressure drops and the cycle can slow. Keeping spare magazines in an inside pocket between uses, and swapping magazines rather than emptying one in long bursts, helps keep the rifle running consistently.
Handling
A buffer-tube stock gives a familiar, solid shoulder point and normally lets you adjust the length of pull to suit your build and kit. Set it so you can see your sights quickly with your head upright, and check it locks firmly in position.
A gas blowback rifle rewards good technique. Seat each magazine firmly, use the charging handle to chamber the first round, and practise reloading so that changing magazines becomes second nature. The recoil and sound make gas rifles more involving to shoot than most electric replicas, which is why they are so popular with players who enjoy realism and milsim.
Getting started
Before the first game, read the manual, then fill a magazine with the gas it recommends in short bursts with the can held upright, and let it settle for a moment. Load BBs, fire a few shots at a safe backstop with the hop-up turned off, then add hop gradually until the BBs fly flat. Have the rifle chronographed at your site before play.

Compatibility
Use good quality seamless 6mm BBs and the gas recommended in the manual. Gas blowback rifles need gas magazines made for their own system, so AEG magazines will not fit. Optics, lights, lasers and grips can be fitted to the rails or handguard where there is space; check the product images for the exact layout.
The listing does not state which magazines this rifle takes, so please ask us before buying spares, and test any new magazine before relying on it in a game.
Care and maintenance
Keep the bolt carrier and the inside of the receiver lightly lubricated with a suitable silicone-based gas blowback lubricant, and clean the inner barrel now and then with a rod and dry patch. Avoid getting oil on the hop-up rubber, and use only good quality seamless BBs.
Put a drop of silicone oil on each magazine’s fill valve and seals every few fills, store magazines with a little gas in them so the seals stay tight, and never overfill. Store the rifle unloaded with the magazines removed, somewhere dry and away from direct heat or sunlight.
Who is it for?
The DWS-180 13.9 Buffer is for players who want a realistic gas blowback rifle from Double Eagle’s newer range, in tan, for milsim, skirmish or simply for the enjoyment of shooting a GBB.
