Description
Quick Release Beads – Small
These small quick release beads let you change your hooklength quickly, without cutting and retying. They also act as a shock bead, cushioning and protecting your knot when using feeders and running rigs. Each packet contains five beads.
Being able to swap hooklengths in seconds is a real advantage on the bank. You might want to change hook size as the fish respond, replace a hooklength that has been damaged by a fish or a snag, or switch to a different rig altogether. With a quick release bead on your mainline, you simply unclip one hooklength and clip in the next.
How to use them
Thread the bead onto your mainline as part of your feeder or running rig and tie it in place as you would a swivel. Tie a loop in the end of your hooklength and clip it into the bead. To change hooklengths, simply release it and attach a new one. Pre-tying a selection of hooklengths at home makes changes on the bank even quicker.
Shock bead function
On running and feeder rigs, the feeder or lead slides down onto the knot or swivel during the cast and on the strike. The bead sits between them, absorbing the impact and protecting the knot from damage.
Tips
Choose a hooklength a little lighter than your mainline, so that if you get snagged the hooklength breaks first and the rest of your rig is recovered. Labelling pre-tied hooklengths by hook size and length saves time and helps you repeat a successful set-up.
