The Raven R226 is a P226-style gas blowback pistol, and this version comes in a brushed chrome finish and is supplied with a BDS compact red dot sight. It is a full-size, full metal sidearm with a realistic recoil feel, a proven grip shape and a modern optic, making it a smart secondary for skirmish and a satisfying pistol for target practice.
Raven is a pistol range sold through Nuprol, known for solid, well-finished gas pistols at sensible prices. The R226 follows the classic P226 layout, with a double-action trigger, a working de-cocking lever and a 20mm accessory rail, so it handles like the real design and is easy to set up with a torch or laser.
Build and finish
The R226 is built from aluminium alloy, giving it a solid, weighty feel in the hand. The brushed chrome finish makes it stand out from the usual black pistols, whether it is in your holster or on display. The grip has a fine stippled texture for a secure hold, even with gloves on or in wet weather, and the chamfered trigger is designed for a smooth double-action pull.
How it works
As a gas blowback pistol, the slide cycles back on every shot, giving a realistic kick and the satisfying sound and feel of a working pistol. Gas is stored in the 20-round magazine along with the BBs. The functioning de-cocking lever lets you safely lower the hammer, and the long double-action first pull followed by a shorter single-action pull reproduces the way the real P226 is operated. The 6.03mm bore inner barrel helps with consistent shots at typical pistol ranges.
The BDS red dot
The included BDS sight is a compact red dot that gives you a single aiming point, so you can keep both eyes open and pick up targets faster than with iron sights, particularly when moving or shooting at close range. It is powered by a CR2032 coin cell, which is not included, so pick one up with your order.

Compatibility
Spare magazines must be R226-specific Raven R-series gas magazines. The rail accepts standard 20mm pistol torches and lasers. The pistol runs on airsoft gas such as green gas; check the manual for recommended gas types. Use good quality 6mm BBs, typically 0.20g or 0.25g.
Care and maintenance
Put a drop of silicone oil on the magazine fill valve and on the seals every so often to keep them supple and leak-free. Fill the magazine for a second or two only and do not overfill. When storing, leave a little gas in the magazine so the seals stay pressurised. Wipe the slide and frame after play, clean the barrel occasionally, and keep the pistol in a case so the chrome finish stays smart. Remove the CR2032 from the BDS sight if you will not use it for a while.
