Description

Saigo Defense Kenji AEG (with Lipo Bat. & Charger – Long – Tan)

This is the long version of the Saigo Defense Kenji electric rifle (AEG) in tan, supplied with a LiPo battery and charger, as named. That makes it a convenient, ready-to-go package: there is no need to work out which battery and charger to buy before your first game.

Saigo Defense sets out to make airsoft accessible without leaving players with a basic, featureless rifle. The Kenji gives you a modern, M-LOK equipped rifle with useful features built in, which makes it a sound choice for a first rifle, a woodland primary or a capable spare.

Build and features

A retailer listing for the Kenji with battery and charger (long version) describes a polymer receiver, an M-LOK handguard with a 20mm top rail, flip-up sights, a vertical grip, a blade trigger and an ergonomic pistol grip, with a 14mm counter-clockwise threaded muzzle. Inside, it lists a metal-toothed piston, a metal nozzle and a metal cylinder head, with an electronic trigger unit (ETU) and an adjustable hop-up, firing in safe, semi and full auto. The listing also gives a 130-round mid-capacity magazine.

The long configuration gives a longer sight radius and more handguard space than a short carbine, which suits woodland games and players who like to engage at a distance. The tan finish blends well with coyote, desert and multi-terrain kit.

How it works

An AEG (airsoft electric gun) uses a rechargeable battery to power a motor, which turns a set of gears inside the gearbox. The gears draw back a piston against a spring and then release it, and the rush of air pushes the BB through the hop-up and down the inner barrel. AEGs are consistent in all weathers and cheap to run, with no gas to buy.

An electronic trigger unit replaces the mechanical trigger contacts with electronic switching, which gives a sharper trigger response and protects the contacts from wear.

Getting started

Charge the supplied LiPo battery fully on the supplied charger, following the instructions, before first use. Fit and connect the battery as the manual describes. Load a magazine and start with the hop-up turned off, then fire a few shots at a safe backstop and add hop a little at a time until the BBs fly flat. Have the rifle chronographed at your site before you play.

Compatibility

The Kenji is listed with a 130-round mid-capacity magazine; it is an M4-style rifle, but please check with us before buying spare magazines to make sure they suit it. The supplied battery and charger are matched to the rifle, so if you buy a spare battery, choose one of the same type, connector and size. The M-LOK handguard takes M-LOK rail sections and accessories, and the 20mm top rail takes standard optics.

Care and maintenance

Disconnect and remove the battery after every game, and never store the rifle with the battery plugged in. Charge LiPo batteries with a suitable balance charger, never leave them charging unattended, and store them at a sensible storage charge in a LiPo-safe bag.

Use good quality seamless 6mm BBs, as poor or damaged BBs are the main cause of jams and hop-up wear. Clean the inner barrel regularly with a cleaning rod and a soft cloth, wipe the rifle down after wet or muddy games, and keep it somewhere dry between games.

Who is it for?

The long Kenji in tan suits new players who want a complete, ready-to-play package, and anyone looking for an affordable, well-featured woodland rifle.

Please note: BBs are not included. Always wear suitable eye and face protection when using airsoft replicas, and check your site’s rules and power limits before play.
