The SA-E21 PDW is a compact M4-pattern carbine from Specna Arms’ EDGE line, finished in black. The PDW stock collapses the rifle down to a very short overall length, making it ideal for buildings, vehicles and tight woodland, while still giving you a proper rifle to shoulder when you need it.
EDGE is Specna’s range that brings together features usually found on more expensive replicas: a reinforced ORION gearbox, a quick spring change system and an adjustable rotary hop-up. Combined with the compact PDW layout, that makes the SA-E21 a very capable CQB rifle that is also easy to maintain and upgrade.
Build and handling
The SA-E21 has a metal M-LOK handguard with a full-length top Picatinny rail, giving plenty of space for a red dot or holographic sight, plus M-LOK slots along the handguard for a torch, laser or foregrip. The PDW stock slides in and out quickly, so you can keep the rifle short when moving through doorways and extend it when you need a steadier hold. The familiar M4 controls make it quick to learn and quick to reload.
Performance and internals
Inside is the ORION gearbox, a reinforced Version 2 design with steel gears on 8mm bearings, an aluminium cylinder head and an aluminium nozzle with an O-ring for a good air seal. The quick spring change system allows you to change the main spring in a minute or so without removing the gearbox, which is especially useful for a CQB rifle, as many indoor sites run lower power limits than outdoor ones.
The adjustable rotary hop-up and 6.03mm inner barrel give consistent, controllable shots at the ranges this rifle is built for.
Setting it up for CQB
A compact rifle like this pairs naturally with a low-profile red dot or holographic sight on the top rail, which keeps your view clear and makes it quick to pick up targets at short range. A torch on the M-LOK handguard is useful for dark buildings, and a short angled or vertical grip helps you drive the rifle between targets. Because the M4 platform is so well supported, all of these are easy to find, and you can add them gradually as your loadout develops.

Compatibility
Takes M4-type AEG magazines and standard Picatinny and M-LOK accessories. Version 2 gearbox upgrade parts will generally suit the ORION gearbox. Because the PDW stock is compact, check the dimensions of any battery before buying to make sure it fits your rifle.
Care and maintenance
Unplug and remove the battery after play and store it separately. Clean the inner barrel now and then with a cleaning rod and patch, and use quality seamless BBs. Before long-term storage, fire a few shots on semi without a magazine to relieve the spring. Keep the PDW stock rails clean and free of grit so the stock slides smoothly.
