Description
SRC Tracer Unit Rechargeable
This SRC tracer unit is rechargeable, so there are no disposable batteries to buy. It fits on the muzzle like a mock suppressor and makes tracer BBs glow as they leave the barrel, letting you see every shot in low light.
SRC is a Taiwanese airsoft manufacturer with a long history of rifles, pistols and accessories. A rechargeable tracer is a practical choice for regular night players and indoor CQB sites with dark areas, as you simply charge it before the game.
How a tracer unit works
A tracer unit sits on the muzzle like a mock suppressor. As each BB passes through, a burst of light, usually ultraviolet, charges the glow-in-the-dark coating on a tracer BB, so it leaves a bright streak along its flight path. You can follow every shot, see exactly where your BBs are going and walk your fire onto a target, which is a real advantage in night games, dark buildings and low-light woodland.
Tracer units only work with tracer (luminous) BBs. Ordinary white or black BBs pass through without glowing, so stock up on tracer BBs of a weight that suits your replica and hop-up.
The SRC rechargeable unit
A retailer listing for SRC’s rechargeable tracer unit describes it as a lightweight aluminium unit with a 14mm counter-clockwise thread, about 160mm long and 35mm in diameter, supplied with its battery, charger and a manual. Please check the product photos and box to confirm these details for the version we stock before ordering.
As with any tracer, the unit has no real suppressing effect on the sound of your replica; its job is to light up your BBs.

Compatibility
Most rifle tracer units fit a 14mm counter-clockwise (CCW) muzzle thread, the most common thread on AEGs. If your replica has a 14mm clockwise (CW) or other thread, you will need a suitable adapter. Make sure the inner barrel does not protrude into the unit and that there is nothing in the bore to clip the BB. Requires tracer BBs.
Care and maintenance
Switch the unit off after use and recharge it as described in the manual before storing it, rather than leaving the battery flat for long periods, and keep it somewhere dry. Wipe the outside clean after games and check that no BB fragments or dirt are lodged in the bore, as debris in the path of the BB can affect accuracy. Never look into the light source while the unit is switched on.
Before each game, check the unit is screwed on fully and straight and that the inner bore lines up with your barrel. A unit that is not aligned can clip BBs, causing poor accuracy and wear. Clean your inner barrel regularly and use good-quality tracer BBs, as dirty or damaged BBs leave residue in the unit.
Who is it for?
Regular night players and indoor CQB players who want a rechargeable tracer, and anyone who wants to see their shots to fine-tune hop-up.
Please note: Tracer BBs are not included and are needed for the tracer effect. Box contents and dimensions are from a retailer listing; please check the photos for the version we stock. Always wear eye protection.
