T&D V1 Gearbox Cylinder
This T&D cylinder is a replacement part for Version 1 (V1) AEG gearboxes. The cylinder is the tube in which the piston travels: when the spring drives the piston forward, the air in the cylinder is pushed through the cylinder head and nozzle to fire the BB. A cylinder in good condition, with a smooth bore, is essential for a consistent air seal and steady shot-to-shot performance.
It is a useful spare for anyone maintaining or rebuilding a V1 gearbox, and a straightforward way to replace a cylinder that has become scored, cracked or damaged.
Why replace a cylinder?
Over time a cylinder can pick up scratches from debris or from a worn piston head O-ring, or be damaged during a gearbox rebuild. A damaged bore lets air leak past the piston head, which leads to inconsistent shots and reduced performance. Fitting a fresh cylinder, together with a well-lubricated piston head, restores the seal.

Fitting
Fitting this part means opening the gearbox, which requires care. Remove the battery, take the gearbox out of the gun, and photograph each stage as you strip it so you can refer back during reassembly. Keep springs under control when splitting the shell, check the shimming of the gears when you rebuild, and apply a light coat of suitable grease where needed. If you are not confident working inside a gearbox, a qualified airsoft technician can fit it for you.

Compatibility
Designed for Version 1 gearboxes. V1 gearboxes vary slightly between manufacturers, so check your gearbox before ordering, and match the cylinder to your barrel length and the rest of your air seal components (cylinder head, piston head and nozzle). Cylinders are not interchangeable between gearbox versions.
Care and maintenance
Store spare parts in their packaging, somewhere dry. Once fitted, keep the gearbox clean and correctly lubricated, and avoid over-greasing, which attracts dirt. Unplug the battery when the gun is not in use, and if you notice new noises, misfeeds or changes in rate of fire, stop and check the gearbox before continuing to use the gun.
