The Tectonic Innovations Neutron is a reusable, single-shot impact grenade, shown here in orange. Rather than throwing away a pyrotechnic after every use, you reload the Neutron with a new 209 primer and use it again, which makes it a more economical long-term option for players who use grenades regularly.
Made from stainless steel and aircraft-grade aluminium, it is built to survive being thrown onto concrete, wood and stone game after game. It is the compact, single-shot member of the Tectonic range and a sensible way into reusable impact grenades. The high-visibility orange finish is the easiest to spot after a throw, particularly in woodland or dim buildings.
How it works
The Neutron uses a bobble-head style mechanism: when the grenade strikes a surface, the head moves and drives the firing mechanism into the primer, giving an instant report. It is designed to go off on impact, so there is no fuse delay to think about; throw it where you want it to land.
Instead of a traditional pin, it uses a self-contained safety with a twist-to-live system. There are no pins or loose parts to drop in the mud, and the grenade stays safe until you deliberately arm it.
Build and visibility
The body measures around 40mm across and 128mm tall and weighs about 450g, giving it a reassuring heft that helps it land with enough force to trigger. A glow-in-the-dark recess helps you locate it in low light, which is useful during night games or in dark buildings.

Compatibility
The Neutron takes 6mm 209-type primers. Use the primer type specified in Tectonic’s instructions and buy primers from a reputable supplier.
Pyrotechnic and primer-based grenades are not permitted at every site, and some sites have rules on where and how they can be used. Check with your site before bringing it to a game.
Care and maintenance
After each game, remove any spent primer, wipe away dirt and moisture and make sure the mechanism moves freely. Keep the threads and moving parts clean, and do not store the grenade with a live primer fitted.
Store it somewhere dry, away from heat, and keep primers in their original packaging, separate from the grenade, and out of the reach of children.
Who is it for?
The Neutron suits regular skirmish and CQB players who want a durable, reusable grenade and would rather reload than keep buying single-use pyrotechnics. It is a good first step into Tectonic’s reusable range.
