Description
WSB Fish-On Reel
The WSB Fish-On Reel is a simple rear drag spinning reel that comes loaded with mono, so it is ready to fish as soon as it is out of the packet. It has a roller on the bail arm and a single ball bearing, and its uncomplicated design makes it an easy reel to learn on and to look after.
It is a sensible choice as a first reel, a reel for youngsters, a spare to keep in the car or a cheap reel for occasional holiday and pier fishing. There is no need to buy and spool line separately, which keeps the cost of getting started down.
How it works
This is a fixed spool reel: the spool stays still and the rotating bail arm wraps line onto it as you turn the handle. To cast, you open the bail arm, hold the line on your finger, cast, then close the bail arm to start retrieving. The roller on the bail arm guides the line onto the spool and helps it run smoothly, reducing wear on the line.
Rear drag
The drag is the clutch that lets line slip from the spool under pressure, so a strong fish can take line instead of breaking it. On this reel the drag adjuster sits at the back of the reel body, which makes it easy to reach and adjust while you are playing a fish without taking your hand far from the rod. Set it so line can be pulled off steadily by hand before a hard pull would break it.
Key features
- Rear drag spinning reel
- Comes pre-loaded with mono

- 1 ball bearing
- Easy-to-reach drag adjustment
- Simple design that is easy to learn and maintain

Compatibility
Fits standard reel seats on spinning, float and feeder rods. Pair it with a rod suited to the line already on the spool, and check the line strength is right for the fishing you plan to do; you can always re-spool with a different line later.
Care and maintenance
Keep sand and grit away from the reel, and never lay it down in the sand or mud. After sea fishing, rinse it gently with fresh water (do not blast it with a hose) and let it dry naturally. A drop of reel oil on the handle knob, bail arm pivot and line roller now and again keeps it turning smoothly.
Back the drag off when the reel is stored for a long time so the drag washers are not left compressed. Check the line for damage before each session and replace it when it becomes dull, kinked or springy.
Who is it for?
Ideal for beginners, juniors and holidaymakers, and for any angler who wants a simple, ready-to-fish spare reel in the car or the tackle bag.
